An important message from Palos Hills resident, Sue Workman, in regards to Elsie's Pantry. If you have a large amount of food, you can drop it off to the Community Center and we will make sure Elsie's Pantry gets it. Their drop box may be too small for larger quantities.
From Sue:
Elsie's Food Pantry needs your help. Elsie's serves almost 100 families weekly. They are running short this month because August has 5 weeks and they won't get their next delivery from USDA until September 1st.
Please consider picking up a few extra shelf stable items when you are grocery shopping this weekend. The Pantry could use mac & cheese, soup, canned dinner items like chili, spaghetti and ravioli. PB&J, crackers, canned fruit and vegetables.
There is a convenient drop box right outside in the driveway.
This would also be a great service project for any club or sports team.
If necessary, I can pickup donations.
Thank you for all of your help.
