Co-founder Tim Ranzetta spent years teaching personal finance in East Palo Alto, struggling to find quality materials to engage his students, and decided to create a better solution. Next Gen Personal Finance (NGPF) offers a free, constantly updated hub of curated personal finance, financial algebra, and economics lessons to engage students in thinking critically about money and providing decision

-making strategies to empower students to shape their financial futures. To serve and empower teachers, NGPF offers:
- flexibility to teach entire units or pull individual activities on specific skills;
- prepared lesson guides and teacher prep materials, ready-to-use student activity packets created by experienced personal finance educators;
- versatility to teach in any environment, from a 1:1 laptop/tablet classroom to traditional pencil and paper;
- engaging learning opportunities with a combination of self-directed exploration and group collaboration that requires critical thinking and multiple perspectives;
- built-in, Common Core- and Jump$tart-aligned assessments;
- comprehension questions for formative assessment;
- performance tasks that engage students in developing strategies they can immediately apply to their own personal finance decisions. Through partnering with teachers, NGPF equips students with:
- engaging content that blends a variety of articles, videos and activities
- real-world personal finance simulations to prepare students for the decisions they will face in college and beyond;
- opportunities to work in a self-driven environment where students are truly in control of shaping their own financial futures. After the Teach Investing with Confidence session, one attendee said, "I learned a lot more from that one session than I have learned from numerous investment books. I feel I can confidently teach the topic to students.
