What does PEN aim to achieve? PEN hopes to ignite an education revolution across the country that will acknowledge, appreciate and effectively teach all students, including those with learni
ng and attention differences by:
•Increasing awareness, knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the strengths and challenges facing students with learning and attention differences through education and collaboration of parents, students, teachers and the community.
• Promoting a strength-based, research-driven approach that benefits all students, in the classroom and at home.
• Empowering students with learning and attention differences to reach their full potential. What does PEN do?
• Speaker Series:
PEN brings locally and nationally recognized experts to speak to parents and educators throughout the school year.
• Professional Development:
PEN offers dedicated professional development opportunities for educators and other professionals.
• EdRev:
PEN hosts an annual conference at AT&T Park in San Francisco featuring renowned
speakers, technology vendors and 100+ exhibitors who offer educational opportunities and cutting edge research.
• SAFE:
PEN runs a group for students ages 13 -19 with learning and attention differences, with
volunteer assistance from local educational and psychological professionals.
• School Liaisons:
PEN identifies volunteers in local schools who share information about PEN.
• Support Groups:
PEN helps parents of students with learning and attention differences set up support groups at their school.
