Five days of hands-on learning in Elgon! ❤️

Together with Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, we trained district health leaders and frontline health workers on our Safe and Urgent Referrals (SURE) App.

From managing patient referrals to coordinating ambulances and connecting health facilities, the focus was on helping patients get urgent care sooner.

And the learning doesn’t stop there. Participants will take these skills back to their facilities and train other health workers.

A little Monday motivation, straight from the Elgon Region! ❤️

We ended last week on a good note, and thought we’d bring some of that energy into Monday.

Together with Mbale Regional Referral Hospital, we spent five days training district health leaders, including Assistant District Health Officers (ADHOs), and frontline health workers on our Safe and Urgent Referrals (SURE) App.

Through hands-on practice, participants learned to manage patient referrals, coordinate ambulances, and connect health facilities. They also practiced how to train others.

For patients needing urgent care, better coordination means fewer delays and quicker access to the care they need.

The training wrapped up on Saturday, but the skills are going back to health facilities across Elgon.

Black, yellow, red, and a whole lot of Ugandan pride! 🇺🇬

64 years of independence, and plenty to celebrate.

For us at Bulamu, a stronger Uganda is also a healthier Uganda, where more people can access quality healthcare closer to home.

There’s still work to do, and we’re glad to be part of it. ❤️

One message came through clearly in Kibuku: we can prevent more mothers from dying from PPH. ❤️

The 2026 PPH Awareness Campaign Commemoration brought health leaders, partners, and communities together around preventing, recognizing, and responding to excessive bleeding after childbirth.

Here are a few moments from the day. 🎥

The conversation continues, and so does the work.

Yesterday was the commemoration. The work continues. ❤️

We joined health leaders, partners, and communities in Kibuku District for the 2026 PPH Awareness Campaign Commemoration, alongside Uganda’s National PPH Champion, Mrs. Charlotte Kainerugaba.

The message was clear: mothers are still losing their lives to excessive bleeding after childbirth, and timely, prepared care can make all the difference.

Throughout PPH Awareness Month, we’ve been turning the conversation into action. We’ve trained health workers and regional champions, taken the conversation onto radio and into communities, and continued investing in maternal and newborn care.

We’ve also equipped seven public health facilities with neonatal care equipment, giving health workers more of the tools they need to care for newborns closer to home.

The commemoration is done. The work isn’t.

Not every teacher stands in front of a classroom. Sometimes, they’re right there on the ward. 👩🏾‍⚕️📚

In healthcare, a lot of learning happens because someone takes the time to say, “Let me show you.”

This World Teachers’ Day, we’re celebrating teachers everywhere, with a special nod to the health workers who teach, mentor, and help their colleagues grow.

Class dismissed? Not quite. There’s always something new to learn. 😊

There’s more to new equipment than plugging it in. 👶🏾

As we get neonatal equipment into public health facilities, we’re making sure health workers get comfortable using it too.

That means hands-on training, asking questions, trying things out, and getting familiar with the equipment they’ll use to care for newborns every day.

Because the right tools make an even bigger difference when they’re in confident hands. 💙

Bringing essential newborn care closer to home. 👶🏾

Our neonatal equipment rollout is reaching health facilities across the country, and this consignment took us to Eastern Uganda.

In Pallisa, Butebo, and Kibuku, we’ve delivered and installed infant incubators, alongside other neonatal care equipment, and trained health workers on how to use them.

Among the equipment delivered are infant incubators, giving health workers another essential tool to care for newborns who need extra support.

Better-equipped facilities mean more newborns can get the care they need closer to home.
