We offer educational, team-building, and leadership-focused camping and backpacking trips for schools, youth groups, individuals, and families. FIELDGUIDES is dedicated to bringing youth outdoors to promote a stronger sense of self, community, and connection to the natural world. We work with schools (grades K-8), youth groups, individuals, and families to provide quality educational camping progr

ams. We specialize in 4th grade Gold Rush history, 3rd-4th grade Native American history, Science Camp for all ages, and Middle School Leadership & Backpacking programs.

We're looking for a couple folks to join our team this Spring 2026!

Fieldguides is dedicated to bringing youth outdoors to foster a stronger sense of self, community, and connection to the natural world. We lead overnight, camping-based outdoor education programs for students in grades 3–8 at locations throughout Central California. Programs include coastal science, redwood ecology, Gold Rush history, and introductory backpacking. Join us and help inspire the next generation of environmental stewards. 🌿

🌲 We're Seeking Seasonal Outdoor Educators for Spring 2026 🌲

Our guides lead camping-based outdoor education programs for grades 3–8 — hiking, teaching science and history, building community, and spending most of the season outdoors. Long, active days, early Fridays, weekends usually free, and a supportive, close-knit team culture.

💰 Pay Scale: $17–$20/hr (overtime included)

Have you ever seen a Cobra Lily? This rare and fascinating plant is carnivorous. It uses translucent light windows inside its hood to confuse insects, guiding them into its trap. This plant thrives in cold, flowing-water bogs and wetlands and is native to our Klamath Mountains.

🌿Foxglove is a tall, striking woodland plant with tubular, bell-shaped blooms in shades of purple, pink, and white. Beautiful but highly toxic, it thrives in gardens and forest edges, where its nectar-rich flowers attract bees and hummingbirds.
