Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School A TK through 8th grade community day school, founded in 1989. Inspiring minds, creating community: Our students celebrate and advocate for each other.

Gideon Hausner Jewish Day School is a Transitional Kindergarten (TK) through 8th grade (ages 4–14) community day school that brings together children from a wide range of backgrounds and experiences. Located in the heart of Silicon Valley, the school draws in students from the San Francisco South Bay Area, the Peninsula and beyond. Hausner students learn actively, question deeply, and give back to their community. In our dynamic classrooms, students develop strong academic skills and immerse themselves in STEM, humanities, the arts, Jewish history, language, and culture. In the tradition of Jewish thinkers throughout history, they ask “Why?” and “Why not?” to find answers and discover more questions. They reach beyond themselves to imagine, pursue, and find their unique place in the world.

Today, we pause to remember October 7, 2023, and the war that began that day. We honor the lives lost and those whose lives were forever changed. Our hearts are with the families who continue to grieve, the survivors, those who were wounded on October 7 and throughout the war, and all those still living with the lasting impact of that day and its aftermath.

At Hausner, we believe remembrance and resilience go hand in hand. Through education, we cultivate empathy, strengthen Jewish identity, and empower the next generation to stand against hatred and injustice.

As we mark three years since October 7, we join the global Jewish community in mourning, reflection, and hope for healing, peace, and a safer future for all. May the memories of those we lost be a blessing.
