🚲🌮 The LAST Thaco Thursday Tour of 2026: “Rancho San Antonio”

⏰ Meet 9:45, roll out 10:00

Just under 30 miles and under 1,000 ft of climbing, topped off with sweeping South Bay views from the Loyola Vista in Rancho San Antonio. The pace is a mellow, social B/C with plenty of regroups, and no one gets dropped. We finish with tacos at La Cazuela in East Palo Alto.

Co-hosted with Western Wheelers. Helmets required! Come close out the season with us. 🙌

Our team of volunteer mechanics on Wednesdays continues to expand at a healthy clip.  This is, no doubt, in part due to the fun environment and camaraderie among our team.  The Wednesday crew recently took a short break from wrenching on bikes to enjoy a tasty lunch.  New volunteers are always welcome.  For more info, please send an email to [email protected]

We were recently able to provide two bicycles/locks/helmets for clients of LifeMoves Opportunity Service Center in Palo Alto. SVBE works with Case Managers at several LifeMoves sites, helping to provide transportation solutions for low-income and unhoused individuals.

We often have to explain that despite the word “Exchange” in our name, we do not provide refurbished bikes to visitors who bring in a bike. So, it was almost funny when we scheduled our partner Puente, supporting farmworkers in Pescadero, to pick up a batch of bikes last month, and they arrived with a batch of bikes which had been donated to them. We were happy to take in these bikes to be refurbished, and sent them on their way with 13 bikes and locks which had been repaired by the SVBE crew.

📅 Mark your calendars! We're partnering with RitcheyLogic and Live in Peace Bike Shop for our Fall Swap Meet on Sunday, October 18, from 10:00 am – 2:00 pm at Ritchey's headquarters (551 Taylor Way #8, San Carlos).

Whether you're hunting for your next ride, clearing out your gear, or just looking for a fun Sunday morning, come shop bikes, parts, and accessories from private sellers. We'll have a coffee cart and a food truck on site.

Entry is $5. Kids and students 18 and under get in free, as do veterans with ID. And after 12pm, entry is free for everyone!
