February is here!! Which means, it’s all about Heart (but isn’t it always for us?) 😊

So much to talk about.... entries have wrapped up! The winners will be announced during CHD Week!!

Roar n Run is our which takes place during CHD Week. So what to do now? Recruit friends and family to join our race! You set the pace. You set the distance. And your registration fee (or donation) go towards funding our Bravery Bag program. Want to know more - just ask!

Monterey County Gives! is off to a fabulous start, and with a little more than 16 days to go, we have a chance to raise more than $2.5 million dollars by midnight December 31.

Join in the fun tomorrow, Wednesday, December 16th, at Whole Foods Market Monterey. Whole Foods Monterey is donating 5% of their sales tomorrow to Monterey County Gives! The store is open from 8am to 9pm.

Sophie’s Heart, which offers support services to children and their families affected by congenital heart defects, wants to do more than provide one meal per month for children and families served at the Ronald McDonald House. In 2016 it wants to also provide Mother’s Day Brunch, a Thanksgiving Day…

Amazing advancements in heart surgery. Very important, especially for children like Sophia.

It looks like a sticky note, but this thin patch saves lives instead of thoughts.

Interesting article...

A few weeks ago, someone posted on my Facebook wall with some news I found, at first, to be wonderful. Parents Magazine had included a fairly large spread about congenital heart defects and newborn heart defect screening in their latest issue.

Congenital Heart Disease is the most common birth defect, and is a leading cause of birth-defect related deaths worldwide. Despite this, funding for CHD is extremely low. This is CHD awareness week, we remember Sophies 5 major heart surgeries and how she has survived, let's also remember all those close to us who never had the chance...

Sophies Heart has an opportunity to receive proceeds from the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. We need at least 10 volunteers to fill slots at the Pro-Am to volunteer on behalf of Sophie's Heart.

If the ten volunteers are at least 21 and older we can possibly be in a alcohol tent. If you have anyone that is in high school that need hours for volunteering Sophies Heart can also sign off hours for volunteering at other spots. If any of you or your kids can volunteer email/ message me and let me know any hours your available to volunteer February 8-10.
