📣‼️ EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!! ‼️📣 We will be having a *FULL HUB SYNC* on Saturday, April 8th, at 6 PM!

We've been thrilled to see several new and returning faces attend our meetings regularly, and we're now in a comfortable space to work on hub-wide campaign planning, long-term strategizing, and goal-setting. This is VERY important to attend (AND always a blast - we have games and breakout rooms and brainstorming and jamboards 🤩), and we hope to see all of you there. We will be introducing our campaigns for the next few months and showing you exactly how you can get involved with Sunrise. Make sure to add this to your calendar ASAP! You don't want to miss it!

Thank you so much to everyone who showed up for our Hub Social today! We had a great time exploring the museum and playing with the incredible tech used to create the Solve For Earth exhibit - from building retrofitting to sustainable soil science. Sunrise SV is proud to endorse Sylvia Arenas for Santa Clara County Supervisor, District 1! As Supervisor, Sylvia will work to ensure that families in Santa Clara County have access to housing, healthcare, and transportation. Sylvia supports a Green New Deal and considers climate change one of her main priorities. She plans to expand renewable energy projects and hold polluters accountable to clean up their messes. As a member of the San Jose City Council, Sylvia worked to end reliance on cars through moving forward efforts to integrate public transit in San Jose. Additionally, she has worked in her community to protect low-income kids from lead poisoning and leaded aviation gas.

Sunrise Silicon Valley is proud to endorse Noelia Corzo for San Mateo County Supervisor, District 2! Noelia has a background as a community organizer for affordable housing and immigrant rights, and continues to be a champion for housing and tenant protections. She sees climate change as the issue of our times, and will work as Supervisor to promote climate action and identify intersections between climate change and other issues. Noelia has served on the Board Trustees of the San Mateo-Foster City School District and led her school board in becoming the first school district to pass a resolution in support of seamless transit. Noelia is deeply committed to serving her community, and will work to close economic disparities in San Mateo County.

Sunrise Silicon Valley is proud to endorse J.R. Fruen for Cupertino City Council! J.R. is an attorney and activist who has been fighting for communities that have historically been left behind by the government. Recently, he has been working on providing aid to those struggling to recover from the COVID-19 pandemic. J.R. also serves as policy director for Cupertino for All— a progressive coalition made up of longtime residents, displaced residents, students, parents, homeowners, renters, and allies — where he works to create a more sustainable Cupertino for future generations. J.R. supports a Green New Deal and has been a long-time advocate for transit-oriented development and other transit solutions. His plans, which will concentrate new housing along major thoroughfares as well as allow for medium-density mixed residential and retail uses at these sites, will reduce our carbon footprint while addressing our housing and transportation needs.
