Africa To Silicon Valley

Africa To Silicon Valley Changing the future of Africa with technology. Bridging the gap between African talent and big tech.

03/30/2026

At A2SV, our mission is to train young African tech talent in top tech-level software engineering skills, equipping them to compete and excel on the global stage.

To give you a glimpse of what this means, we asked our team members to define A2SV in one sentence.

Their perspectives capture the essence of our work: preparing African developers for the global stage, nurturing a diverse and collaborative team culture, and creating opportunities that turn ambitious dreams into reality.

Every day, we’re shaping Africa’s tech future, empowering developers to innovate, lead, and make an impact globally.

🤝Join us in empowering Africa’s next generation of developers.

We were thrilled to welcome the curious young minds of Africa from Nu Vision High School to our headquarters.

Students explored our tech education program, which equip young Africans with top-level tech skills, access to global opportunities, and the drive to give back to their communities.

They were also introduced to our digital products, especially SkillBridge, a platform that helps high school students take control of their exam preparation with structured lessons, practice exercises, and guided learning.

It was inspiring to see their curiosity, engagement, and excitement while interacting with our team. Thank you, Nu Vision High School, for visiting A2SV HQ.

A new milestone for our G7 Remote Education students 🚀

They have successfully completed their Onboarding Phase and are now moving into the First Education Phase of their A2SV journey.

The onboarding phase helped students understand the program, adapt, and prepare for the challenges ahead. Now they are ready to apply their knowledge, dive deeper into problem-solving, data structures, algorithms, and communication skills.

At A2SV, every cohort progresses through structured phases designed to nurture world-class talent and create global impact. 🌍✨
G7 Remote Education students, comment below and share your onboarding experience, what you learned, what excited you, and what you’re most looking forward to next.

📽️ A few moments from the A2SV London Gala 2026

One of the nicest parts of the evening was seeing alumni who first met through A2SV years ago now reconnecting in the same room, this time as professional engineers and mentors.

Hearing journeys from Lydia Gashawtena, Yisehak Bogale, Okitta Oda, and Tadele Tekalign meant a lot to all of us.

We were also happy to spend the evening with friends and supporters of the program including Burak Simsek, Ufuk UCAR, Alan Abdullah Gulle, and Meral Sahin.

And a big thanks to Taha Simsek and Okan Akçay and the band for bringing great energy to the night (and to our vocalist Marissa as well!).

Thank you to everyone who joined us in London and continues to support the students and community around A2SV.

G6 A2SV Remote Education students have officially entered the project phase.

The project phase is where ideas meet action. Students move from learning to building, tackling real challenges and creating solutions that can make a difference.

This year, they’re tackling projects that address real African needs:
🔹 Africa Tourism Intelligence makes travel across Africa accessible, affordable, and community-driven, supporting local tourism economies.

🔹 Personal Expense Tracker enables people to track expenses and build financial awareness.

🔹 Afya is a preventive wellness platform promoting healthy habits through local meals, home workouts, and simple habit tracking.

🔹 Shop-Ops helps shop owners manage inventory, monitor sales, and operate more efficiently.

Guided by Remote Education Head of Academy, students will iterate, prototype, and refine their projects, moving them from ideas to real-world solutions.

👇 Which project stood out to you the most, and what caught your attention?

Welcome to the Team: Oscar Kimanuka

We’re thrilled to welcome Oscar Kimanuka as our Senior Consultant. Oscar brings decades of experience in strategic communications, media leadership, and public affairs, from serving as Speech Writer to His Excellency President Paul Kagame, to leading national media agencies, and shaping narratives on diplomacy, sustainability, and international relations.

At A2SV, Oscar will focus on strengthening our brand and positioning our mission on the global stage. Beyond his professional accomplishments, he’s deeply passionate about mentoring young communicators and believes in the power of storytelling to build trust and inspire action.

💭 Oscar’s advice to the A2SV community resonates with all of us:
“Master your craft, but also master how you communicate it. Talent opens doors, clear communication keeps them open.”

Please join us in welcoming Oscar to the team!

⭐ BK Foundation Visits A2SV Africa HQ

We were honored to welcome representatives from BKFoundation, Ingrid Karangwayire and Zaina Amri-Sued, to our Africa HQ. The visit provided an opportunity to discuss shared goals and explore collaboration.

We showcased A2SV education program and digital products addressing challenges in education, healthcare, and finance, and introduced our team driving these initiatives.

The discussions were productive, with both sides exchanging ideas and identifying ways to increase impact together.

We look forward to strong collaboration and working together to develop the tech ecosystems in Rwanda and across Africa. 🤝

The new education season has officially started at the University of Rwanda!

During the kickoff, we welcomed 42 students and walked them through who we are, how the A2SV program works, and what the coming months will demand.

We shared our education phases, introduced the digital products our teams are building, including Adot, AfroChat, AKIL, Dime, RateEat, and SkillBridge, and set clear expectations from day one.

Our alumni spoke about the journey ahead. It is not easy. It requires discipline, patience, and consistency. But it leads somewhere meaningful.

If they stay committed, these students won’t just complete a program. They will grow into engineers ready for top global tech companies.

To our University of Rwanda students: what was the moment that stayed with you after the kickoff?
