After 6 years of weaving, reimagining, and belonging to this global community of youth activists and adult allies, we have closed the central operations of YouthxYouth.

This transition was one chosen with intention. It is in recognition that the structures that have thus far held us can no longer serve the vision we carry. The seeds we’ve planted together (the relationships, knowledge, stories, and the ways of being) will continue to grow in the soil of other movements, other communities, and other forms we cannot yet imagine. And that feels sacred.

We will always hold the fullness of what YouthxYouth has been: a home for young people across the world who dared to face the world wholeheartedly, radically reimagine beyond the structures we’ve inherited, and to courageously and collectively step into action in service of our collective liberation. Our legacy lives on, in you, in us, and in the work that continues to call us forward.

We created something truly beautiful, together.

January 24th - Day 3: WHAT NOW

We’ve seen what is. We’ve imagined what if. Now we ask: what now?

Our final day together is about stepping forward, with tools, with community, with clarity about how to carry this work into whatever comes next. Day 3 is when our 2025 Weavership cohort graduates, when we honour the youth weavers who’ve deepened this practice and are ready to weave it into their own movements and communities. We’ll also host a closing ceremony on this day to collectively close this festival and all it stirred within is (This is also when we’ll host our annual open mic).

January 23rd - Day 2: WHAT IF

This is the day we let ourselves dream.

After grounding in what is, Day 2 opens up the question that’s driven this work from the beginning: what if? What becomes possible when we learn together across difference and generation? What worlds can we build when we refuse the limitations we’ve been handed? What does education for collective liberation actually create?

This is the day for letting our imaginations take us beyond what we’ve known into what we’re ready to build.

January 22nd - Day 1: WHAT IS

We begin by coming home to each other. Our first day together is about arriving fully, reconnecting with this community, grounding in what we’ve learned over six years, and seeing clearly the forces we’re up against and the possibilities we’ve created.This is the day we step back to witness what’s true. What have we built together? What has this journey revealed about youth leadership, intergenerational weaving, and education for liberation? What are the systems and structures we’re transforming, and what have we learned about how transformation actually happens?

Who is the Learning Festival for?

The short answer is anyone building and dreaming toward collective liberation.

And the longer answer is youth organisers and adult allies, educators breaking from oppressive systems, community builders weaving across difference, students questioning everything, movement and organisations needing tools and community, artists and storytellers, anyone feeling isolated in this work, and everyone asking “”what now?””
