Sorry for the delay in updates. I have been very busy! So I never did get any real answers from the orthopedic surgeon. I got four different answers to the same question. I think she got in over her head and just won't admit it. Trinity saw the joint replacement specialist and will be having her right hip replacement on April 12th. She will have her left knee replacement done in August. For now she remains in her wheelchair. We continue to try the crutches from time to time but they just cause her a lot of pain. She is now on routine meds for pain and muscle spasms. Trinity's labs continue to be good at her monthly Oncology visits. Tuesday and Wednesday will be very busy days! Tuesday will start at 9am GYN, then on to her pre admit testing for her hip replacement. Followed by scans of her right eye to check the swelling and an eye injection. Her day will end with a follow-up brain MRI to make sure the infection is still gone. Wednesday starts with 8am Oncology for labs, to see the doc and her monthly Zomeda infusion for her bones. Followed by her twice a year bone density scan. Then chest xray follow-up from the infection (September 2015) and pulmonary function test. The day will end with her Audiology appointment. Trinity continues with classroom instruction. Some days are better than others. She got some kids that pick on her. All I can say is we continue to pray for them. Please continue to send positive thoughts/vibes and prayers for Trinity and our family. Love and Hugs to All! Trinity finally was able to get her hair colored, cut and styled. Thank you Kristle, we love you to the moon and back!

So I'm trying to make sense of what happened on Friday and why. Unfortunately, I can't and I will have to call the surgeon tomorrow and ask some questions. Prior to surgery I was lead to believe Trinity's left femur was the primary concern. Drilling the holes in the bone would've stopped the AVN (avascular necrosis) at the current damage level. At least that was what we had hoped for. However, during the surgery, it seems as if the cartilage became the primary concern. Once the surgeon was inside the knee she discovered that the cartilage was seperated from the femur on the outside of the leg. Which was a concern once the MRI was obtained. It was fine on the inside of the leg. So the surgeon removed as much debris as she could and removed the seperated cartilage (which was dead). Trinity will need a knee replacement in the near future (or so that's what I've been lead to believe). We go back to see the surgeon on February 2nd and at that time we will be referred to a surgeon that actually does knee replacements and Trinity will start physical therapy. We are hoping Trinity will be a candidate for a partial knee replacement and not have to have a total knee replacement just yet. The surgeon also told me that once Trinity is one week postop she needs to be up on her knee. I asked about that doing further damage to the remaining cartilage (the meniscus and the cartilage that covers the tibia) and the surgeon said no it won't. I also don't understand how that can be true. Trinity's femur isn't smooth and rounded where the femur cartilage was removed. I will pass along the answers to my questions when I get them. I will post pictures tomorrow of Trinity's knee. It's all bandaged up right now but the dressings can be removed tomorrow around noon. Trinity's pain was better yesterday than it was on Friday. Hopefully today will be even better. As of right now Trinity will be homebound for the next two weeks. That time could be more or less depending on her pain level. When she returns to school she will be in her wheelchair for about a week then crutches for a week. We will see how things go and how her physical therapist feels about things and try to go back to "normal" walking at that point. Please continue to send Trinity, as well as the rest of the fam, lots of positive thoughts and prayers. Love and Hugs to All! Try to stay warm!

Ok I finally have all the info. Trinity will have her knee surgery on Friday, January 6th. The surgery will last about an hour and a half. I was reminded today that this surgery is not a guarentee. However, if its successful it will bide her more time before she will have to have a knee replacement. If not a success we will do comfort measures until she stops growing. At which time she will have a knee replacement. For those of you wondering what will be done during this surgery. The surgeon is going to drill two or three holes in the femoral condyle (the end of her femur basically behind her knee cap). In hopes of making the bone bleed again. If successful this will stop the avascular necrosis. It will not repair the damage that has already been done. Hence the knee replacement still being needed. Trinity's last day in the classroom will be this Thursday. Our Superintendent approved homebound instruction for her again. I just have to say a HUGE THANK YOU to our principal Mr. Farris as well as our superintendent Mr. Stockdale for emailing with me and making this a priority yesterday while they were still suppose to be on Christmas break. Mr. Snow will be our homebound teacher again! Which makes being homebound bearable! Trinity will be homebound for at least six weeks. The surgeon and oncologist want Trinity to be in her wheelchair and not put any weight at all on her knee for at least six weeks. January 28th our angel's are slated to be out to build Trinity's wheelchair ramp. Please send lots of prayers and positive thoughts our way especially on Friday. I will update once she is taken into surgery and again when she comes out of surgery. Love and Hugs to All!

So Trinity's brain MRI is stable! Her chest CT will be repeated on January 27th due to 2 small spots being found. The oncologist and the pulmonalogist aren't real concerned but will repeat the scan to be sure. They think it's just scar tissue. The first MRI of her knee was a fail, Trinity is having muscle spasms in her knee so bad. None of the pictures were clear. So we went a second day and with meds on board the proper pictures were obtained. Trinity has been diagnosed with avascular necrosis in her left knee now also. She has been referred to an orthoscopic surgeon and we have a surgical consult on December 28th. Trinity will be having surgery soon for cartilage repair. The bone and cartilage have seperated and the doctor's aren't sure why. Physical therapy has been put on hold at this time and Trinity is in her wheelchair till further notice. We are now in the process of trying to get a wheelchair ramp put up so that Trinity isn't so much a prisoner in her own home. Trinity had an upper respiratory infection at the beginning of the month but we were able to stay home! She was able to fight it off with an antibiotic (in pill form no IV'S this time) and four times a day shaker vest and incentive spirometer! We saw the pulmonalogist on the 14th and he is happy with Trinity's progress. He said we will continue our current regimen. We will see oncology again on December 30th for routine labs, her monthly IV calcium supplement and to see the doctor. The opthmologist will do another eye injection on January 13th. January 27th will be another busy day. She will see the oncologist, get labs drawn, monthly IV calcium supplement, repeat chest CT, routine heart echo and EKG. Lastly, a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to HOPPS for the Christmas package sent today! Also a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to CFKI and Coke for all the Christmas presents! Please continue to send prayers and positive thoughts for Trinity and our family. Love and Hugs to All! I will update again Wednesday or Thursday in regards to Trinity's upcoming surgery.

So we are trying to be "normal"! November 19th, we were finally able to attend the "Larger than Cancer" Party that Aidens Legacy has done for four years now, Thank you Gena! November 26th, we attended the Camp Quality Reunion, Thank you Eddie and Nurse Nance! We had an amazing time with some of mom's family and some of dad's family for Thanksgiving. Wednesday we spent the day with Aunt Lori and Morgan (as well as our adopted family from Mississippi) prepping all the food for Thanksgiving day. We had so much fun! Trinity is building antibodies (accepting the immunizations) so she will continue on the schedule for getting all her immunizations again. The swelling has returned behind her right eye. So Trinity will be getting another eye injection tomorrow. We will follow up with the eye scan about 4 weeks post injection. She has had more pain in her right hip and her left knee so we saw the Orthopedic Surgeon Tuesday (about 3 weeks earlier than the scheduled follow up appointment). He did an xray of her hip and knee. There is no longer a ball at the end of her femur. She will have to have a hip replacement eventually. Just not sure when. There is several areas on her left knee that the surgeon is concerned about so she will be getting an MRI of that knee next Wednesday. She will continue with physical therapy as tolerated. We are also waiting on insurance to approve an unloader brace for support of her left knee. Tomorrow we have a long and early day. 6am registration, 7am brain MRI, 8am chest CT, 8:30 OMO for blood work, immunizations and calcium supplement infusion. Then 10:30 sedation services for the eye injection. Then either the oncologist will see us in sedation or we will have to go back to OMO to see him. She is starting to feel a little under the weather so we are on fever watch now and monitoring her very close. Please continue to send lots of extra positive thoughts and prayers for my baby and our family. I will update as I get the results from the MRI'S and the CT. Love and Hugs to All!

Trying really hard to be "normal"! Trinity has been to the woods twice now with her dad deer hunting. We had family pics done at the Falls of the Ohio, thank you Cheryl. Trinity did a pottery painting night with her Camp Quality Companion, thank you Katelyn. We went to Holiday World, thank you CFKI! We also ran into Trinity's Camp Quality Companion from from last year, Racheal at Holiday World! Trinity started back in the classroom, half days, October 17th. She is loving being back in school with her friends. Thank you Eastern High School staff for watching over her! Trinity saw the oncologist October 7th. Her blood work was good, she received her second set of immunizations as well. She saw the oncologist again yesterday, November 4th. Her white blood count went up quite a bit but the oncologist wasn't worried. She didn't receive immunizations but antibodies were drawn to see if she is is accepting or rejecting the immunizations. We should have that info tuesday. She will get immunizations again December 2nd. She is adjusting well to being back in school! This month she will hopefully continue in physical therapy, insurance is pending approval. She will also she her gyn (from the chemo and radiation killing her overies) and the opthmologist (follow up from the eye injection) to see if the medication is keeping the swelling down behind her right eye and our plan for the future. This is a huge adjustment for our family but we are really enjoying it!

Please send extra prayers tonight and in the morning. Trinity will be having her port removed in the morning. Mom is nervous, that port has been in place since July 2, 2012. However, one step closer to "normal"! Love and Hugs to All! I will update once she comes out of surgery.
