Everyone’s grief journey is unique.

Sunday we heard from different people sharing about different types of losses.

We heard two fathers share their story. We heard an uncle sing a song dedicated to his niece. We heard two mothers share their story as well.

We also heard a story told from a sibling’s perspective. Our Walk chair Lizz Connor’s son wrote an essay for school called “The Sister I Never Had.” At the walk, Lizz’s daughter read that essay for us.

Today’s the day!!

Our closing ceremony will look a little different than we originally planned today.

Our live butterflies were ordered and the company scheduled them to be shipped Friday using overnight so we’d have them yesterday. (They come very chilled so the timing has to be precise)

However, we received notice from UPS yesterday that even though they were supposed to be shipped overnight, that we wouldn’t receive them until Monday.

No worries though. We have a beautiful flower petal ceremony that we will be closing with.

It’s a great weather weekend for our remembrance walk!!

A COUPLE REMINDERS

1) If you ordered t-shirts and would like to get them early, you can pick them up at the Gazebo on Ocean and 5th Avenue at 10:00am tomorrow.

2) We will determine the top fundraising team at noon tomorrow. (Saturday) The team that has raised the most funds (at that point) will lead our walk and carry the Hope Banner. (Just so you know, our top two fundraising teams are only $11 apart right now so it’s extremely close!)

We are so excited to see you this Sunday for TEARS Annual Rock & Walk at Bradley Beach.

Final preparations are being made to make this event special as we honor our children together.

A giant hug and enormous gratitude to Lizz who is leading your NJ walk this year! She’s done a fantastic job so please show her some love when you see her on Sunday! ❤️

Check-in begins at 9am and the opening ceremonies start at 10am.

Online registration is closed, but don’t worry, you can still register at the event site on Sunday.

Here’s a preview of the personalized t-shirts, butterflies for each child, and event program.

We can’t wait to see you Sunday 💗💙
