Did you know assuming the worst can become a habit?

They didn’t text back…so they must be mad.

Their tone sounded different…so something must be wrong.

They didn’t include me…so they must not want me around.

One small thing happens, and before we know it, our mind has created an entire story…usually one where we end up rejected, hurt, embarrassed, or disappointed.

Sometimes assuming the worst feels like protection. If we expect the hurt, maybe it won’t hurt as badly when it happens.

But living that way keeps us trapped in fear over things that may not even be true.

Recovery teaches us to pause before we assume.

Ask instead of guessing.

Look for truth instead of feeding fear.

Stop trying to finish a story God hasn’t finished writing.

You don’t have to figure out every silence.
You don’t have to analyze every tone.
You don’t have to prepare yourself for every possible rejection.

When you don’t know…you can surrender the unknown to God.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.”
Proverbs 3:5

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT AT A CELEBRATE RECOVERY MEETING?

Maybe you’ve thought about coming… but you’re nervous because you don’t know what to expect.

Here’s what you’ll find:

❤️ People who understand.
You don’t have to have it all together to walk through the doors.

🙌 Worship and encouragement.
We gather together, worship, and hear a recovery-centered lesson or someone’s testimony.

🤝 A safe place to connect.
After Large Group, we break into gender-specific Open Share Groups where you can talk… or simply listen. You will never be forced to share.

✝️ Jesus at the center.
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery ministry for anyone dealing with hurts, habits, and hang-ups.

And maybe the most important thing to expect…

You don’t have to walk in already changed.
You just have to walk in.

Come as you are. There’s a seat for you.

Mark 12:30-31

Did you know serving others can become part of your own healing?

We often think serving is only about what we can do for someone else.

But God has a way of using service to change us, too.

Serving gets us outside of ourselves.
It gives purpose to what we’ve walked through.
It reminds us that we still have something to give.

Sometimes the very place where you once struggled becomes the place God uses you to help someone else.

You don’t have to have it all together to serve.

You just have to be willing to say…

“God, use me.”
