📢WE NEED HELP 📢

Meet Chumbawamba, one of our newest Cocoa Kitties—and right now, this sweet boy has a fight ahead of him.

Chumbawamba came into our care after he was found lethargic on someone’s porch. We knew something wasn’t right, so we got him to Shores, where after an exam and several tests, we received the diagnosis we were not expecting to hear:

FIP.

But Chumbawamba might be knocked down right now… and we’re going to do everything we can to help him get back up again.

Thankfully, we were able to start FIP treatment right away, and we’re hopeful that this is the beginning of getting our boy back on track.

Now, we need your help.

Today’s vet bill alone was $700. His FIP treatment will cost several hundred dollars more, and he’ll need follow-up bloodwork throughout treatment to make sure he’s responding and progressing as he should.

It adds up quickly—but when a kitty has a chance to fight, we’re going to give him that chance.

If you can donate toward Chumbawamba’s care, even a few dollars helps us cover his treatment and the veterinary care he’ll need along the way. You can donate thru this post or via Venmo (). If you can’t donate, sharing his story helps too.

He gets knocked down… but he’ll get up again.
You’re never gonna keep Chumbawamba down.

Let’s help this sweet boy kick FIP and get back on his feet.

Ziggy! ⚡️🐱

Ziggy is a curious 3-yesr old who always wants to know what's happening! If there's something happening, you can count on him to be nearby, quietly checking it out and taking it all in. While he may be a bit shy, his inquisitive nature always gets the best of him! Hands can still be a little intimidating for Ziggy, but he has his own special ways of showing affection. He loves rubbing against your head, greeting you with happy purrs, and chatting with you whenever he gets the chance. It's his sweet way of saying, "I'm glad you're here."

Cats mostly purr and meow. They do scream, howl, yowl, caterwaul, whatever you'd like to call it, for many reasons. They may see an animal outside and want to warn it to stay away. They could be in pain. She could be in heat (please spay her, we don't need anymore kittens). Separation anxiety could bring this on too. They call out for their favorite human to give them some company. Sometimes it can be from aging and they are confused as to where or what is going on. Call out to your kitty and comfort them.

Pollo is a senior cat but he's not one to howl for attention. He just wants a home of his own and to be loved. Apply to adopt him at www.cocoakitties.org

Lil Jon is a precious 4 month old baby! 🐈♥️

Don't let his blindness fool you—Lil Jon doesn't let anything slow him down! This adorable kitten is incredibly confident once he's familiar with his surroundings, exploring his world with curiosity and determination.

The moment you give him a little love and attention, his motor starts rumbling, and he's happiest curled up close to his favorite people.

This resilient little guy is looking for a family who will appreciate just how capable and affectionate he is. With a little patience as he learns his new home, Lil Jon will show you that life doesn't need sight to be full of adventure, cuddles, and endless purrs.

In June of 2026 researchers from University of Bath UK, Auburn University US, and Ecole Nationale Veterinairie de Toulouse France have shown cat brains age like humans. Both have over all brain shrinkage and more fluid filled ventricles inside the skull. There were studies on cognitive dysfunction. As cats age there could be changes in sleep patterns, increased nighttime vocals due to possible confusion. Sometimes new litter box accidents. Anything you write off as just being a cat could be contributed to aging in your senior kitty.

Troubles is not yet in senior age. He is an adult but has so many years left to give love to his human. Are you that human?
