Extrication training with local business partners! πŸ‘¨β€πŸš’πŸš—

Earlier today, your attended an extrication training with the assistance of our friends at Ironshark Tow & Transport, LLC.! Firefighters conducted, and practiced different extrication techniques, and cuts!

Business partnerships like this help us strengthen our relationships with local businesses, and as well make it learning experiences for our firefighters, so we are better prepared, and trained to help you!

Big thanks to Roman at Iron Shark for inviting us, and being a longtime partner with Palmview Fire Department and inviting us to train!

Firefighters made a quick knockdown on the vehicle and there were no reported injuries to occupants, or firefighters.

We also want to remind people in the event where your vehicle starts to smoke, or you suspect your vehicle may be on fire, pull on the side of the street away from nearby buildings and other vehicles, and shut off the vehicle, and safely evacuate your vehicle.

We also urge residents to pull to the right when an emergency vehicle is approaching, and slow down or move over.

Palmview firefighters respond to apartment fire and rescue a cat!

This evening, your responded to a reported apartment on fire, units responded with the Battalion Chief, Truck 1, Tank 2, and Medic 4. Battalion 1 advised of smoke coming from the apartment unit, and ordered Truck 1 personnel to make entry. While giving a size up for incoming fire units, battalion 1 was going door to door evacuating the residence. Truck 1 made entry and was making their way to the fire, fire personnel located the fire immediately, and was quickly extinguished. While knocking down the fire command advised that there was a cat inside the residence, firefighters conducted their primary search and were able to locate the family pet inside the residence, firefighters rapidly extricated the cat, and was given oxygen due to being inside the residence with heavy smoke. After the cat was given oxygen, the cat was then turned over to the homeowners. Thankfully, no reported injuries to civilians, and firefighters.
