was founded by Chasidy Adams, who was a young, heart transplant recipient. Despite the insurmountable obstacles that Chasidy faced with heart problems, she did not allow her medical conditions to prevent her from living a happy life. At the age of 13, Chasidy was diagnosed with Dilated Cardio Myopathy which resulted in the need for a life-saving procedure. In October of 2008, Chasidy received a do
nor heart transplantation and began her new journey of life with a positive attitude. Both middle and high school years for Chasidy consisted of doctor’s visits and hospital stays. In May of 2010, Chasidy underwent a second open-heart surgery to repair a leaky valve. Nevertheless, she continued to excel in academics and even began writing a book about her journey. At age 16, Chasidy was a guest on an internet radio station that operated in Atlanta, Georgia. During the interview, the host was amazed by her story and integrity as a young adult and offered her an internship at the station. Chasidy began using her nickname given to her as a child as her radio personality. Family members called her “Chatt” because she talked all of the time and could make the saddest person have a brighter day with her incredible humor. The cast of the radio station began referring to Chasidy as “Chattbox”, which she used continuously to promote her new venture in radio. In spite of the many hospital stays and doctor’s visits, Chasidy graduated high school as an honor student and began her pursuit to a Degree in Mass Communications. While applying for scholarships, Chasidy was shocked to learn that resources for young adults like herself was scarce. Chasidy introduced the idea of creating a foundation that would offer support to young adults and children who were faced with the same obstacles as she was. Unfortunately, Chasidy’s donor heart failed in August of 2014. Her mother, the CEO of CHF continues Chasidy’s dreams to operate a successful nonprofit organization such as Changin' Hearts Foundation, Inc
