UwH's Happy Hearts Children's Ministry and Learning Center Program. Our missionaries, Durga and her Sujeeth her husband, live in India and lead several programs for children, widows and needy families. Durga has a Bachelors degree in Education and a Masters degree. She worked as a Teacher for several years. In our UwH's Happy Hearts Children's Ministry and Learning Center Program, Durga teaches th

e children basic English, has a new fun activity each week for the children to learn and offers a prayer session and Bible lesson weekly. In addition, each child receives fruit to take home to their families. The program started April 9, 2016 and each week new children join the program. Within six months more than 60 children joined the program. We have a few children waiting to be sponsored. The sponsorship fee is $10 monthly and new photos are posted weekly. Widow Program: After a life of service and going without, the widows of India face a whole new kind of suffering. Imagine your own children abusing and beating you or abandoning you with no means of survival. This is the reality faced by many of these widows. Those who are able, work menial jobs for a minimal amount of money. Many are too old, frail, and sick to work. They live on the margins of society, a background of misery. The United With Home Widow's Fund seeks to restore dignity and offer hope to these precious women. The money from the fund goes to meet some of the most basic needs of the widows and reminds them that they are not alone. You can choose a single widow to sponsor or make a donation to the general fund. Either way you will be making a difference in the lives of the widows.
