Butte Area Residents Civic Organization Inc. Butte is a small community 40 miles northeast of Anchorage.

We are surrounded by glaciers, mountains and two wild rivers - the Knik and the Matanuska - that created the northern-most reach of the Pacific Ocean. We live in the most beautiful area anyone could imagine and are surrounded by public lands that are in high demand for recreation not only by those of us who live here, but by those who live within the population centers of southcentral Alaska: Anchorage and Wasilla.
