Palmer Lions Club

Palmer Lions Club Lions meet the needs of local communities and the world.

The 1.35 million members of our volunteer organization in 206 countries and geographic areas are different in many ways, but share a core belief – community is what we make it. We meet every Tuesday from 12:00-1:00pm at the Mat-Su Salvation Army building off the Palmer-Wasilla Highway.

“On Tuesday, June 30, the Palmer Lions were proud to rededicate the Milepost at the Palmer Visitor Information Center. Originally built in 1971, this landmark was restored this past winter by members of the Palmer Lions, helping preserve an important piece of Palmer's history.

As part of the ceremony, we unveiled a new plaque honoring Clyde and June Oberg for their contributions to the Palmer Lions. Clyde Oberg was one of the original builders of the Milepost, and we are honored to recognize the lasting legacy that he and June have left in Palmer.

We were honored to be joined by Palmer Mayor Jim Cooper, Lions District 49A Governor Robert Posma, Chamber of Commerce President Steve Loyer, Sheri Hamming from the Palmer Historical Society, Dylainie Nathlich from the Palmer Museum of History and Art, members of the Oberg family, Community members and fellow Palmer Lions.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for this special occasion and to all who continue to support the Palmer Lions as we serve our community and help preserve Palmer’s history.
