The YAK The YAK is closed. The Yak is a place for the youth of AK to come, buy a drink and some snacks and enjoy them over a game of pool or foosball.

Chill out on the couches with your friends or get some homework done at the snack bar. No rush to leave, this place is for you.

​​While school isn't in session, The YAK utilizes our summer months to run a program called YAKventures! This is a FREE program that has been created to encourage youth to UNPLUG, GET OUTDOORS, and EXPERIENCE all the health benefits of nature!

Tomorrow is the YAK's official last day. We will screen two movies (edited to PG): The Truman Show and The Matrix.

We will generally be closed for the summer, although Yakventures meets at the Yak on Wednesdays and Fridays for drop-off and pick-up.

For Friday, May 3rd, the teens at the YAK asked to watch Titanic as the Friday night movie. I hadn't seen it in years (I presented a clean version). The actor who portrayed Captain Smith (Bernard Hill) passed away on Sunday. We remember him well.

Reminder: If you have a birthday card on the YAK wall, you'd better come claim it soon! All cards (even summer birthday cards) will "expire" at the end of the school year. You can grab your card and claim your gifts ANYTIME.

The YAK silent auction will be moved to Friday, May 10th at 5pm. You can come look and bid on things anytime until then....
