💜 Need a little break from the fair? We’ve got you! 💜

Alaska Family Services is proud to provide the Family Rest Stop as a FREE service to State Fair guests.🧸

📍Find us inside Raven Hall, between the GCI and AK VA Healthcare System booths!

Our Family Rest Stop offers a peaceful place for families with small children and infants to step away from the crowds, slow down, and recharge. You’ll find:

👶 Diaper changing stations with wipes & hand sanitizer.

🤱 A cozy area for breastfeeding.

🧸 A play area with toys and coloring pages for kiddos.

Whether your little one needs a diaper change, a quiet feeding, or simply a few minutes away from the hustle and bustle, we’re here to help make your fair experience a little easier.

💜 Want to help us keep the Family Rest Stop stocked? Donations are always appreciated and help us provide essential supplies like diapers, wipes, and hand sanitizer for families throughout the fair.

At AFS, we believe that connection is vital to recovery. If you are navigating sobriety or just need some extra clean-and-sober support, we are here for you. We are hosting a free weekly Zoom support group open to current clients, alumni, friends, family, and community members.

🔒 Your Privacy is Protected– Our Substance Use Disorder and Mental Health Counselors will be on the call. We will never disclose if you are a current or past client. Your anonymity is entirely yours to protect or share.
👋 Come As You Are – You decide how you want to participate. Drop in late, leave early, stay for the hour, or just listen quietly. There is no rigid curriculum or set agenda. This is an open floor for organic, community-led discussion and mutual support.

If you're dropping off donations at our Administrative Office on Chugach Street, we've made the process even easier:

🛒 A cart is available to help you unload your vehicle.
📦 Donations can be placed on the table or in the designated bins in our entryway.
🧾 Need a donation receipt? Simply scan the QR code in our donation area, answer a few quick questions, and your receipt will be emailed directly to you.

Your generosity helps us continue serving individuals and families throughout our community. Thank you for making a difference!

This Friday, from noon to 3 pm, take a break over your lunch hour and bring the whole family to Wonderland Park for one of the biggest FREE family events of the summer!

We are proud to announce that our DVSA Victim & Survivors Support Group is set to return beginning August 6th! The group will be held at our Administrative Office on Thursdays from 5:30pm to 7pm. This group is welcome to all genders; there is also a children's group held at the same time.

WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program has started again! Come see us at our Wasilla WIC Clinic in the Mat-Su Health Foundation building to receive your farmers market benefits and pick up some goodies!

Can't make it? Both our Wasilla & Palmer locations are open Monday through Friday 8am to 4:30pm and are happy to help when you're able to come in or give us a call.
