Cheers to 3 Years!

This weekend marks our three-year anniversary, and even though we have paused rescue operations, I am forever thankful for the incredible supporters who have guided and encouraged us along the way.

As an educator, parent and rescuer, I often think about this poem and the choices we make to create a better life for ourselves and others. Starting this rescue was one of those life-changing decisions made with the love and support of my family.

Over the years, I have met amazing adopters, volunteers, and supporters who have shown unwavering commitment and compassion. A huge shout out to Christine, my ride or die for the rescue, for leading today’s event and tirelessly networking to support our medical pup, Clyde.

We are still $400 short for Clyde’s surgery, which is scheduled for Tuesday, so any donation, big or small, means the world.

We urgently need volunteers for these upcoming events so our remaining six dogs have a chance to find loving homes. Without volunteers, the events cannot take place, and these dogs may lose their opportunity to be adopted through a rescue. Please consider helping us give them the forever homes they deserve before it's too LATE!

Serious problems are happening at LA County shelters that everyone in rescue needs to be aware of. Dogs are being pulled under rescues’ names—or even using rescue owners’ personal names—without permission.

👉 A few months ago, a dog was pulled from the Lancaster shelter under my rescue’s name without my consent. After a stressful back-and-forth, the error was corrected, but it should never have happened.

👉 Last week, it got worse. I received licensing paperwork for two dogs I never met, approved, or authorized. After pressing Animal Control for answers, it was uncovered that networker Jessica walked into the shelter, used my name, and pulled the dogs as adoptions—not rescues. She later told the shelter the dogs were “given away.” This is no error if you know the history with Jessica. Also, didn’t she say she retired after a sloppy rescue mission gone wrong?!😱

❗ Let’s be clear:
• I never gave permission.
• These dogs were taken under false pretenses.
• And now, no one can say for sure where they are—or if they’re even alive.

This is not a first offense. Jessica has a documented history of shady practices: arranging unauthorized “rescues” under other people’s names and sending dogs on unsafe transports that have ended in preventable deaths.

What’s worse? The shelters are brushing this off as if it’s no big deal. It is a big deal. This puts rescues at legal risk, damages reputations, and—most importantly—puts innocent dogs in danger.

⚠️ If you are a rescue or adopter working with LA County shelters, protect yourself and the dogs by:
• Double-checking what dogs are listed under your rescue’s name.
• Demanding proof of authorization before paperwork is processed.
• Holding shelters accountable when procedures are ignored.

This is not gossip. This is a dangerous pattern. And until people start paying attention, more dogs will suffer the consequences.
