Nobody's Perfect: A Toastmaster's Mantra For Us All
Event by Palm Springs Toastmasters Club

Join us at 6pm tomorrow July 9 at Palm Springs Toastmasters Club in Palm Springs, California, for a special appearance by Distinguished Toastmaster John Reece.

"Nobody's Perfect" is the Distinguished Toastmaster's message for those who are anxious about speaking because their speech is "not ready" which will be reframed in this brief in person presentation for a live audience at The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert in Palm Springs, CA.

When John Reece was old enough to join Toastmasters, he enlisted in the United States Navy instead. He served for 20 years, rising to the rank of Senior Chief Petty Officer.

When Reece retired from the Navy in November 1986, he began a career in the Aerospace business as a Data Analyst, Trainer, Logistics Engineer, and Integrated Logistics Support Program Manager.

From 2006 until he retired at the end of 2013, Reece was the Manager of the Technical Publications and Training Department at Northrop Grumman’s Inertial Navigation Systems facility in Woodland Hills, CA.

Reece began his Toastmasters journey in 2002, nearly always as a member of at least two clubs. When he retired and moved to Yucaipa in December 2013, he joined Valley Toastmasters. The following month, he joined Redland CA's Koffee ‘N Toastmasters. He is the President-Elect for Valley Toastmasters this year.

He earned the title of Distinguished Toastmasters in May of 2010. He has served as Area Governor and Division Governor in District 52 (San Fernando Valley) and Area Governor and Club Coach Chair in District 12. Reece has been a Club President six times, Vice President Education 14 times, Vice President Membership once, and Sergeant-at-Arms 3 times. District 52, Division B was a Distinguished Division for 2008-2009.

Palm Springs Toastmasters meets in person weekly on Tuesdays from 6-7:30 pm at The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert in Palm Springs at 1301 North Palm Canyon Drive, 3rd Floor.
