Splash House 2025 at The Palm Springs Air Museum
Fridays August 8th & 15th 9:00PM - 2:00AM|Saturdays August 9th & 16th 10:00PM – 2:00AM
Dear Residents,
This letter is intended to provide information regarding the return of our Splash House event this
summer at the Palm Springs Air Museum. The event will take place from 9:00PM to 2:00AM on Fridays,
August 8th & 15th and Saturdays, August 9th & 16th from 10:00PM to 2:00AM, with minimal sound
checks before each event.
The noise abatement measures outlined below have been successfully used for past Splash House
events and will be in place this summer as we remain committed to minimizing potential disturbances in
surrounding communities. We will be working closely with the PSPD regarding traffic management and
safety, with shuttles serving as the primary transportation for patrons to and from the Air Museum.
Noise Abatement Measures:
• Installing Dazian IFR acoustic drapery in the Air Museum Pacific Hangar, lobby doors, and
hallway to add an acoustic buffer between the venue and nearby communities. The curtains are
installed floor-to-ceiling (120’ x 30’) in double hangs to provide a high level of sound absorption.
• Installing Echo Acoustic Barriers at the venue in addition to Dazian curtains. These temporary
noise barriers can be affixed indoors and outdoors to fencing and are designed to absorb noise
with up to 41 dB attenuation.
• Refining the PA and sub design for improved steering and containment using sound monitoring
data from previous events.
• Installing rigging with increased height to fly a line array sound system, steering audio energy
into the acoustic drapery and away from communities and reflective surfaces.
• Adding more delay speakers in the venue to decrease sound levels from the main stage.
• Monitoring dB readings during the show proactively around the venue and in neighboring
communities with a dedicated staff member.
• Having a dedicated dispatcher and code officer with the City of Palm Springs to ensure
compliance, maintain complaint logs, and monitor sound levels at the location of complaints.
As always, we are working closely with city representatives to ensure all requirements are met and the
community is kept in mind at every phase. We welcome any input or questions from residents before
and during the event. Our Community Liaison's contact information is provided below.
Sincerely,
Darren Carrol
