Desert Horticultural Society of the Coachella Valley Our goal is to promote the use of desert appropriate plants in an attractive, environmentally sustainable landscape.

Formed in the summer of 2005, the Desert Horticultural Society of Coachella Valley (DHSCV), a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is a group of local professionals and residents from a variety of backgrounds, united in our interest to encourage and promote what many call desert landscaping in the Coachella Valley. The group includes home gardeners, landscape industry professionals, volunteers and s

taff of The Living Desert, faculty and staff from local area colleges and water districts, and many others who share a love of gardening and concern for water conservation in our beautiful desert.

Proceeds go to our Mary Brent Wehrli Scholarship Fund, which helped our last recipient Ignacio Moreno graduate from Cal Poly Pomona with two degrees.

It's that time again! Garden Day 2023 is right around the corner! Join us for a totally free event from 8am - 2pm on Saturday, October 21 at UCR Palm Desert! More information on our website. https://deserthorticulturalsociety.org/garden-day/

Lecture topics include Trees, Native Plants, Edible Gardening, and Climate Resilience.

There will be plant sales from Master Gardeners, California Native Plant Society, and the Palm Springs High School group which grows plants to support Monarchs.

There will be local organizations and individuals on hand to answer your questions about native plants and irrigation!
