In earlier 2015 at just 6 months old, I was found in Alabama, abandoned in a shed with Ava. We were left with no food or water, no blankets or bedding, with chains around our necks that weighed more than we did, exposed to temperatures reaching below freezing. A shelter in Palm Harbor, Florida called Suncoast Animal League, rallied to save our lives. I was found emaciated, dehydrated, anemic, cove
red in sores, and full of worms. My back legs were atrophied, spine and ribs protruding, and unable to lift my head due to the weight of the chains. No one knows how long we may have been stuck there. It was determined that I was giving up on survival. Still just a puppy, it's assumed I had never known any other ways of living and never experienced love. Suncoast Animal League gathered the trusty help of Mike and Debbie Valentine to make the flight to Alabama and bring us to safety. Once we arrived in a Clearwater Florida airport, we were greeted with lots of affection, then whisked away to a Enterprise Road Animal Hospital where Dr. Pola spent the next hour and a half examining and testing us. My medical notes stated "extremely malnourished, dehydrated, none deficiency in back legs (likely due to malnutrition), internal parasites, and stunted growth. I was fed, prescriptions were written, and I was on my way to a better life with a loving foster home. After a few months of vet visits and some much needed TLC, I was given a clean bill of health. Today, I am a happy, healthy dog, loving my new lease on life all thanks to the helping hand at Suncoast Animal League. I am now running for the title "King of Dogtoberfest"! Funds are collected in my honor and donated to Suncoast Animal League, the shelter responsible for saving my life. If my team raises the most funds, I wi be crowned king! My humans say I deserve it!
