Our great apes love visual enrichment, and some of the most meaningful enrichment they’ve received has come from local artists who created stunning murals just for them.

We’re looking for muralists who can help us continue this tradition. If you’re able to donate your talent, time, and supplies to create a magical mural that brightens the lives of our great apes, please reach out to us at [email protected]. Your art truly makes a difference!

Fun Fact Fridays: Rhesus Macaques

The sanctuary is currently home to 3 male Rhesus Macaques: Christian, Peanut Butter Cup and Valentine.

Rhesus macaques have specialized pouch-like cheeks, allowing them to temporarily hoard their food. They interact using a variety of facial expressions, vocalizations, body postures, and gestures.

Christian and Peanut Butter Cup came to the sanctuary as former pets. Valentine came to the sanctuary as part of an FWC relocation process.
