Join us for our bi-monthly bird walk, the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of every month! Stroll through the preserve and enjoy our feathered residents and visitors guided by our avian knowledge leaders. No registration required. The Bird Walk begins at 7:30 am in the parking lot. Binoculars and cameras encouraged.

🐦 Join Us for Second Saturday Bird Walks at COSA! 🌿

Looking for a fun way to connect with nature, learn about local birds, and enjoy the outdoors? Join the Eastern Sierra Bird Alliance for our monthly Second Saturday Bird Walks this Saturday, 6/13 at 7:30am at the Bishop Paiute Tribe's Conservation Open Space Area (COSA)!

✨ Free and family-friendly
✨ Beginners welcome
✨ Binoculars and bird guides available
✨ Easy-paced walk lasting about 90 minutes

📅 When: Second Saturday of every month
⏰ 7:30 AM (April–September)
⏰ 8:30 AM (October–March)

📍 Where: Meet in the large parking lot next to the USFS and BLM offices at 351 Pacu Lane, Bishop, behind the DMV.

Starting Friday, June 5, join local naturalists Charlie and Laura for a one hour walk through the Ancient Bristlecone Pine Forest. Learn about the birds that call this forest home and the unique ecology of the oldest trees in the world.

📆 Every Friday from June 5 through July 10
⏰ 9:00am - 10:00am
📍Meet at Schulman Visitor Center outdoor deck

Nature walks are free and open to all ages. Walks will be outside at 10,000' elevation, please bring water, sun protection and hiking/walking shoes.

There’s a little (and I mean little) break in the hot weather coming up and on Monday, May 18 Kurt will do a pop-up birdwalk at the Living Desert.

Meet just inside at 8:22am (note the strange start time…). Admission fee required.



Migration is mostly over but it’s always interesting to see what birds are around!



Also on Thursdays in May there are free birdwalks at Sunnylands in Rancho Mirage at 845am and Kurt will be leading the May 21 walk. He'll have the DCBC bird caps - if you need one for the summer this is your chance.
