On 3/17/10 (St. Camerons Journey

St.

Patrick's Day) we had an MRI appointment from the pediatrician to see why Cameron was vomiting often and complaining about his head hurting at night. At that time we were told that Cameron had a Ependymoma Brain Tumor that needed immediate attention. So we traveled directly to the Florida Hospital in Orlando. Cameron was scheduled for brain surgery on Friday 3/19/10 to have the tumor removed. Afte

r 99 days in the Hospital in 2010 - re-teaching Cameron how to walk talk and eat again, and MRI's every 3 months - a tumor reoccurred in June of 2011. So on 6/3/11 Cameron went back in for surgery to have the second tumor removed. Cameron will be completing 23 radiation treatments to prevent any further occurrence. Patrick's Day 2010 was the day that our lives were turned upside down. We were told those words that no parent ever wants to hear. Your son has cancer. He was diagnosed with Ependymoma, a brain tumor. He was sent to Orlando for emergency surgery. He spent 99 days in the hospital, had to relearn to walk, talk, & eat. After surgery, the day after his third birthday he started radiation treatments. He had to endure 33 radiation treatments under sedation. Cameron was then sent to Jacksonville to a rehab hospital for one month.

1st Reccurance - We were told that Cameron has scar tissue that is growing at his incision site that needed to be removed. Once the surgeon went in to remove the scar tissue, he discovered that it was another tumor. Cameron then had to endure 25 more radiation treatments.

2nd Reccurance - Cameon's skull was showing 8x thicker then it should be in the MRI. It was then discovered that a tumor is growing into Cameron's skull. He had to have a huge portion of his skull removed and had to wear a helmet for 4 months. He was then accepted into a chemotherapy trial at St. Jude in Memphis, TN for the summer.

3rd Reccurance - The trial at St. Jude showed a new tumor growing since starting the trail and he was removed from the trail and sent home to start a new trial at Arnold Palmer Hospital. We were told that to be eligible for this trial, he could not have surgery to remove the tumor. Cameron's mri showed growth in tumor and was removed from this trial.

4th Reccurance - Cameron's recent tumor is growing dangerously close to his vein and the surgeon in Florida says it is inoperable. After speaking to the surgeon at St. Jude, he was willing to try to operate. The pre-surgery MRI showed that he has a second and new tumor. He will start a daily oral chemo and a bi-weekly chemo infusion after surgery.

5th Reccurance - Cameron went a whole year with no tumor, but unfortunately he now has a new tumor growing at the vein site, again. We will be having surgery in Memphis, TN and will be discussing treatment options after surgery.

Sending a huge thank you to 811 Salt & Vine for hosting Live Like Cameron’s Mother’s Day Event.

Our childhood cancer moms give so much of themselves everyday caring for their children while often putting their own needs last. It was such a nice day for these moms to relax and enjoy some time dedicated just for them.

I can’t recommend this place enough. The staff was absolutely amazing and took such good care of our super moms, making them feel so appreciated. Thank you for helping Live Like Cameron make this day so special for these women who deserve the world!

A huge thank you to Masks for Miracles and Remax Select Professionals for donating 50 incredible swag bags for Prom at AdventHealth for Children last weekend!

This prom is such a special night for pediatric oncology teens who were unable to attend their own high school prom due to cancer treatment and hospital stays. Thanks to your generosity, these teens felt so special and loved.

The swag bags were beyond AMAZING and the teens absolutely loved them! Each one was filled with fun surprises including an Owala, disposable camera, and so many prom goodies that made the night so memorable.

We are beyond grateful for your kindness and support in helping Live Like Cameron make this prom an unforgettable experience for these brave teens. Thank you for bringing so much joy to a night they will always remember.

This 4th of July, while many of us are celebrating with family, fireworks, and freedom… there are children and teens battling cancer who will be spending the holiday in a hospital room.

At Live Like Cameron, we want to make sure they still feel the joy, excitement, and magic of the holiday — even from their hospital beds.

We’ve put together a 4th of July Wish List filled with items to help us create special Bags of Hope for these incredible warriors. From festive goodies and fun activities to comfort items that make hospital stays a little easier… every donation helps us bring joy, comfort, and hope.

We are so grateful for this community and the way you always show up for our local childhood cancer families. A special thank you to Joanna Hughes for our very first donation — your kindness is already making a difference and helping us get started.

Last week, because of our incredible Live Like Cameron donors, we were able to bring joy, comfort, and hope to three amazing pediatric oncology patients

One sweet little boy absolutely loves soccer, and his favorite player is Cristiano Ronaldo. We surprised him with brand new bedding for his hospital bed featuring his favorite player, along with a Bag of Hope filled with all kinds of fun soccer-themed goodies. He even shared pictures with us, and seeing his smile meant everything!

We also created a special Bag of Hope for a teenage girl who loves Florida State University — filled with FSU items to bring a little piece of home to her hospital room

And for another brave little guy who loves Pokémon, we packed his bag full of fun, comfort, and Pokémon-themed surprises to make him smile.

Because of our amazing donors, these children and teens battling cancer were reminded that they are not alone. You are helping us bring light into some really hard days, and we are so grateful for each and every one of you. We are excited to deliver four more Bags of Hope tomorrow as well.

What an incredible day last Saturday at our 9th Annual Live Like Cameron Golf Tournament, Cameron's Birthday Classic! Thanks to your incredible support, this year’s tournament was completely sold out!
We are beyond grateful to everyone who made this event such a success — our amazing golfers, generous sponsors, dedicated volunteers, and all of our food, drink, and raffle donors. Because of YOU, we were able to create a day filled with fun, love, and hope for our local childhood cancer families.
This year was extra special as we celebrated Cameron’s birthday by honoring our incredible first responders — heroes Cameron looked up to so much. Thank you to all who joined us in recognizing them
The course was filled with so many fun games at the holes, food samples and so many smiling faces throughout the day. A special thank you to Swillerbees for donating Cameron’s favorite breakfast donuts — such a meaningful touch — and to S.R. Perrott for keeping our beverage cart stocked and everyone refreshed!
We also want to give a huge shoutout to Halifax Plantation for hosting us for the first time this year. They were absolutely wonderful, and we are so grateful for their hospitality and support.
From the bottom of our hearts… thank you for showing up, supporting, and helping us Live Like Cameron
