Celebrate Portuguese Heritageโand Help Preserve a Piece of Portugal!
Did you know that the beautiful Igreja de Vรกlega, also known as the Church of Nossa Senhora do Amparo, is a treasured landmark in Ovar, Portugal?
Construction of this remarkable church began in 1746 and continued for more than a century. Today, it is admired for its breathtaking, colorful azulejosโtraditional Portuguese ceramic tiles depicting religious scenes. Its magnificent main faรงade was decorated with vibrant tiles from the Aleluia factory in Aveiro around 1960, making the church one of Portugalโs most distinctive architectural treasures.
This November, our Portuguese community in Palm Coast has a special opportunity to celebrate our culture while giving back to our heritage.
The 2nd Annual Portuguese Festival is more than a celebration of music, food, and tradition. Proceeds from the event will support the Igreja de Vรกlega in Portugal, helping give back to this historic church and the community it serves.
