Old King’s Road, now part of Heritage Crossroads: Miles of History, was a key British supply route during the Revolutionary War. Built between 1765 and 1775, the 16-foot-wide road linked St. Augustine to Georgia, enabling troop movement and connecting Loyalist plantations.

The ten-mile segment of the Old Dixie Highway shown here runs from Espanola to C.R. 204 in Flagler County. Also known as the Old Brick Road, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 20, 2005.

This historic stretch is one of the first U.S. “auto trails” (completed circa 1917). The system of auto trails was an informal network of marked routes that existed in the U.S. and Canada in the early 1900s.

You can drive this historic road off the Heritage Crossroads: Miles of History Scenic Highway.
