The Esther B. O'Keeffe Gallery Building has occupied a central place on the campus of The Society of the Four Arts since its completion in 1947. 🏛️ 🌴

Designed by famed architect Addison Mizner, the building was conceived as a home for cultural and educational programs, expanding the institution's ability to serve the community in the years following World War II.

Over the decades, it has welcomed generations of visitors for lectures, concerts, exhibitions, and public gatherings.

Today, it remains one of the defining architectural landmarks of the Four Arts campus and a testament to the institution's longstanding commitment to the arts, education, and civic life.

note: the O’Keeffe Gallery Building is closed for renovations.

History is often remembered through its monuments. More revealing are the moments when a society begins to change.

The questions raised in this conversation extend far beyond Ancient Rome. They invite us to consider how cultures adapt, what they choose to preserve, and how pivotal decisions continue to shape the world long after they are made.

Watch our conversation with Dr. Darius Arya for a thoughtful exploration of the forces that influence the course of history and the value of examining the past with fresh eyes. 🏛️✨

Every community is shaped by the people who leave a lasting mark on its landscape, institutions, and cultural life. ✨ 🌴

This year’s Four Arts Contemporaries Gala celebrated the pioneers of Palm Beach. Guests enjoyed an evening dedicated to the visionaries whose profound impacts on architecture, horticulture, philanthropy, and the arts established the vibrant character of the town we know today.

The evening was not only as a celebration of Palm Beach's history, but also as a reminder of the importance of preserving and supporting the cultural institutions that continue to enrich community life.

We are grateful to everyone who joined us in support of the Four Arts and its mission.

An evening of jazz history unfolded at the Four Arts. 🎺

This spring, legendary trumpeter and composer Wynton Marsalis joined the internationally acclaimed Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra for a landmark residency celebrating the enduring brilliance of American jazz.

For nearly four decades, the orchestra has set the standard for artistic excellence, blending timeless jazz traditions with bold contemporary compositions. Under the direction of Marsalis (a Pulitzer Prize winner, nine-time Grammy Award recipient, and one of the most influential musicians of our time) the ensemble delivered a performance defined by virtuosity, soulfulness, and extraordinary collaboration.

Take a look at this unforgettable evening where music, culture, and community converged.

Humans have been on Earth for a couple hundred thousand years, but the wildlife around us carries a history spanning millions. 🐾

In this interview, Ronan Donovan and Carlton Ward Jr. discuss how animals teach us about survival and serve as a reflection of our own societal choices.

When we fracture the landscape, we ultimately disrupt our own future. Tracking the needs of wide-ranging species like the Florida panther gives us a tangible look at the exact habitats that require our protection before they disappear.

Watch the video below to explore how photography and storytelling can help us restore our connection to the natural world.

Last season, the Four Arts welcomed the Fred Astaire Dance Studios - West Palm Beach for a brilliant program drawn from the rich traditions of the Americas.

Under the expert choreography of Mykhailo and Anastasia Azarov, world-class dance couples captivated us with everything from the sweeping grace of the International Standard Waltz to the sharp intensity of the American Smooth Tango.

It was a masterclass in technique, passion, and artistry. ✨

While we look back at these beautiful moments, we are also looking forward. Stay tuned for what we have planned for the 2026–2027 season!

In the Annette and Jack Friedland Memorial Lecture as part of the Esther B. O’Keeffe Speaker series, the Four Arts welcomed Judy Collins for an afternoon of song and conversation this season. 🎤 🎶

Collins' career spans six decades and 55 albums, among them Wildflowers (1967), whose rendition of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides Now" has since entered the Grammy Hall of Fame, and the 1975 Grammy Award-winning "Send in the Clowns," written by Stephen Sondheim.

Her most recent album, Spellbound (2022), and her first collection of poetry, Sometimes It's Heaven, published in March 2025, mark the latest chapters in a body of work that has shaped American folk music for generations.

How societies understand their past often reveals just as much about the present.

In this recent conversation at The Four Arts, Darius Arya reflected on the enduring relevance of the ancient world and the ways historical narratives continue to evolve through scholarship, archaeology, and interpretation.

Programs like these invite audiences to look beyond dates and monuments toward the larger human questions history continues to hold.

French painter Louise Sartor joined art historian Lacy Davisson at The Four Arts for a conversation on process, material, and the thinking behind her work. 🎨

Trained in scenography at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs and later at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, Sartor is known for portraits, landscapes, and still lifes painted on found and repurposed materials, mass-market packaging among them.

Working in oil, gouache, and silverpoint, she has exhibited at Galerie Crèvecoeur in Paris, Galerie Belami in Los Angeles, and at the Château de Versailles, and in 2022 designed the official Roland-Garros poster. The conversation, moderated by Lacy Davisson, moved between Sartor's formal training and the unconventional surfaces and subjects that have come to define her practice.
