Making Waves of Progress 🌊

This is Nigel, a teen who finds his greatest joy in music -- whether he’s singing, dancing, or learning to play a new instrument -- and spending time with his younger sister.

But this past December, Nigel’s rhythm was interrupted by a diagnosis of BCOR Sarcoma in December 2025. The impact was immediate; the tumor invaded his spine, leaving him paralyzed and unable to walk.

However, Nigel is determined to improve. After undergoing intensive radiation and continuing with infusion chemotherapy, his tumor reduced in size. On his 16th birthday, he proudly achieved the incredible milestone of walking again.

The road to recovery is long, with treatments expected to continue through at least September. To ensure his family can focus on Nigel’s health and his twice-weekly physical therapy, Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope is proud to step in. We are currently assisting the family with vital living expenses, including their mortgage, utilities, and HOA fees, to ease the financial hardship caused by this battle.

Cancer is a diagnosis that no one wishes to hear. It completely shakes your world and leaves you with more questions than answers. I questioned myself, “How am I going to get through this?”

​Then, I realized that I was not alone. Family, friends, and doctors showed up to support me on my way to recovery. I started meeting wonderful people who led me straight to you and your organization, which has become a significant part of my support team.
