🎒✨ 100 Backpacks. 100 Smiles. Countless Futures Supported.

This week, our incredible volunteers came together to pack 100 customized backpacks for children impacted by cancer—whether navigating their own diagnosis or supporting a close family member through theirs.

A cancer diagnosis brings unimaginable trauma, but education brings hope, routine, and a sense of normalcy. That’s why every single backpack was thoughtfully curated with tailored school supplies to ensure these resilient kids have the exact tools they need to keep learning, growing, and thriving. ✏️📚

None of this would be possible without our amazing volunteers who show up with open hearts, and our generous donors whose kindness lifts up local families when they need it most. 💛

For the third time in 27 years, Marianela is facing a battle with cancer. Having previously defeated colon cancer, she is now fighting lymphoma. Through every hardship, including the profound loss of a daughter, Marianela’s focus remains entirely on the family she lives for.

Today, she draws her strength from the home she shares with her older daughter, four grandchildren, and their beloved dogs and cats.

Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope is assisting Marianela and her family with rent, utilities, transportation costs, pet food, and pet supplies during her treatment.

Beautiful expression of gratitude from Adem, Kristan, and Charlie, who are receiving assistance from Cancer Alliance of Help during Adem’s treatment for lung cancer:

[Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope] made us feel seen, cared for, supported, and loved during one of the hardest seasons of our lives. Because of their kindness, we do not have to spend this month consumed with fear over rent. Instead, we can focus on what matters most — my husband’s treatments, doctor appointments, scans, and medications.”

Making Waves of Progress 🌊

This is Nigel, a teen who finds his greatest joy in music -- whether he’s singing, dancing, or learning to play a new instrument -- and spending time with his younger sister.

But this past December, Nigel’s rhythm was interrupted by a diagnosis of BCOR Sarcoma in December 2025. The impact was immediate; the tumor invaded his spine, leaving him paralyzed and unable to walk.

However, Nigel is determined to improve. After undergoing intensive radiation and continuing with infusion chemotherapy, his tumor reduced in size. On his 16th birthday, he proudly achieved the incredible milestone of walking again.

The road to recovery is long, with treatments expected to continue through at least September. To ensure his family can focus on Nigel’s health and his twice-weekly physical therapy, Cancer Alliance of Help & Hope is proud to step in. We are currently assisting the family with vital living expenses, including their mortgage, utilities, and HOA fees, to ease the financial hardship caused by this battle.
