Wood Badge S4-85-12-1 Wood Badge for the 21st Century- Gulf Stream Council

Wood Badge has four specific objectives: As a result of attending Wood Badge, participants will be able to:

• View Scouting globally, as a family of interrelated, values-based programs that provide age-appropriate activities for youth.

• Recognize the contemporary leadership concepts utilized in corporate America and leading government organizations that are relevant to our values-based movemen

t.

• Apply the skills they learn from their participation as a member of a successful working team.

• Revitalize their commitment by sharing in an overall inspirational experience that helps provide Scouting with the leadership it needs to accomplish its mission on an ongoing basis.

We all make mistakes. When things go wrong, here's a great way to get things back on track. This is a great read for any leader, especially Wood Badgers.

The One Minute Apology begins with Surrender and ends with Integrity.

Surrender
- Admit the mistake to myself.
- Take responsibility for my mistake and sincerely recognize the need to apologize.
- Have a sense of urgency about apologizing.
- Tell anyone I harmed what I did wrong.
- Share how I feel about what I did with those I harmed.

Integrity
- Recognize what I did is inconsistent with who I want to be.
- Reaffirm I am better than my poor behavior and forgive myself.
- Make amends and demonstrate my commitment not to repeat the act by changing my behavior.
