We inspire and cultivate interests by providing an environment rich with opportunities to explore and learn in ways that come naturally to them. We will prepare our community young people with the tools needed to turn "NEXT LEVEL" dreams into reality. In April 2019, after assembling the ingredients for our own “secret sauce”, the Board of Directors adopted our Three-Year Strategic Plan. This plan
outlines the future strategies of TeachThemYoungER and focuses our efforts on supporting student-athletes and their journey to reach their athletic dreams and beyond. In addition to narrowing our scope to young people, we focused an emphasis on the recruitment and development of girls who have an interest in athletics. A self-evaluation of our progress took place in March 2020, and again by August 2021, and the Board and its Committees decided to place a hold on basketball development programs for the 2022 AAU season. The decision was exceedingly difficult, but a change needed to happen within our organization. Several life events occurred for our staff, our volunteers, our board and specifically our newly appointed President, Anthony Moore. In October 2022, Anthony (or Coach Ant as most kids call him) decided to start realigning the leadership of the organization with the location of the organization changing to Brevard County, Florida. He brought together a new group of motivated parents, athletes, coaches, and educators. As a group we agreed to offer fresh perspectives and have a relentless drive to help others succeed. We are an innovative and progressive program that utilizes sports as a vehicle for students' positive development using learned values like Mindfulness, Exceptionalism, Responsibility, Integrity, Teamwork, and Sportsmanship. We will prepare each child with the tools needed to succeed at their own "NEXT LEVEL." As the Holiday season of 2022 began, our team started discussions about additional enrichment programs for our student-athletes. We encourage underserved young people to find their voices through self and community power. We empower our young people to use creativity, education, and leadership to nurture a growth mindset and encourage self-efficacy. In January 2023, our newly appointed Treasurer revitalized our TeachThemYoungER Athletic Fund to supply financial support to local student-athletes and their families. By assisting these athletes successfully participate in the sport of their choice. We strive to develop our youth to become outstanding citizens. Additionally, the Damon "Coach D" Davis Memorial Scholarship has been established to supply financial support to members of our athletic program and are committed to improving academically and athletically. As this first quarter of 2023 begins to wind down, TeachThemYoungER is poised to create change in Brevard, Volusia, Seminole, Osceola, and Orange counties…stay tuned!
