A charitable nonprofit dedicated to protecting and restoring the Indian River Lagoon through Science, Education, & Advocacy. MRC educates all ages.

The Indian River Lagoon is home to 4,300 different species of plants and animals, including us, humans! Restoring the health and beauty of our lagoon starts with you! There are many ways you can get involved:

- Become a member! Donors are MRC members, united in restoring balance to the Indian River Lagoon coastal community of east-central Florida. To make a charitable contribution, visit our website and click on "Donate". We appreciate your support and involvement.

- Volunteer with us! MRC hosts a variety of workshops ranging from caring for thousands of young mangroves in our two state-licensed nurseries, to creating concrete structures designed to recruit oyster spat and accrete shoreline. To sign up, fill out the Volunteer Application and Waiver on our website, under "Get Involved".

- Learn something new today! To inquire about youth educational programs, contact [email protected] and for adult educational programs, contact [email protected]. You can also tune into our Facebook Lives, featuring our monthly Lunch & Learns and our Report Card presentations. Prior to serving as the Executive Director of MRC, Dr. Wilson was a professor of paleontology and paleobiology, and studied ancient diving seabirds. Join us to explore what seabird fossils can tell us about the chemical, physical, and biological properties of an inland sea that stretched across central North America 80 million years ago. 🦕

Join us at the Ted Moorhead Lagoon House from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 19th, to learn how to hand knit your very own trendy blanket for Fall! 🍁 For two hours, you'll learn the techniques for making the blanket from local crochet artist, Ginny, and leave prepared to make your own blanket at home. 🛋
