Award winning. Community focused!

At BMBA its all about nature access for the public and building an inviting community! While bikes are at our heart we also build trails for, and not limited to, hikers, walkers, birders, floaters, horse back riders, and even kayakers and SUPs (water access and launch points).

The Brevard Mountain Bike Association (BMBA) received the 'Get on the Trail Award.' While small, the Brevard Mountain Bike Association is a very inviting, inclusive, and collaborative space for new trail users. Members work together for the greater good of the outdoor recreating public. This last year, the club has grown to almost 300 members, and expanded their reach to Wickham park. A couple years ago, Wickham only had a few miles of nearly unmarked trail. Working hand in hand with the land managers, Wickham Park now has a fine trail system of almost 10 miles, all well marked.

The association extended their insurance to Wickham to allow organized MTB rides to continue there. The group has also increased its presence in Turkey Creek trails and now do dedicated workdays in that area (with permission of the land managers). The association currently has a fund raiser running to connect the Turkey Creek Trails with the Grapefruit Trails (all off road). This will require almost 18K worth of funding, and the group had to produce stamped, engineered plans (see below). All is moving forward on that, a really exciting project that will benefit the community for many years.

So Inspiring when the community comes together!

Ride like Noah

An awful tragedy to spur an event but the legacy left by such an Angel will live on forever. Noah left an indelible mark on the life of everyone that met him. The BMBA is incredibly blessed to have had a tiny part in this amazing event. Thank you Skylar and the other Friends and Family that organized such a memorable day.

The large group of kids, family, friends, Fire and Police all showed up to memorialize a truly special human. Noah was an inspiration and I can hope once everything really sinks in, all of these enthusiastic kids will remember Noah and follow the examples set by him. We are proud that the GFT was his sanctuary and the Family chose this place to celebrate his life. It was amazing to see these kids RIDE LIKE NOAH!

Things are changing at BMBA! As this was an election year most positions remained the same but we have some new positions we'd like you to celebrate with us!

"Mista" Lee Storey - GFT Trail Coordinator - If you've been to the GFT over the last 10 years you've probably rode with, worked with, or saw Mista Lee out on the trail. Lee is very committed to BMBA, the GFT, and making trail accessible to all riders. He is a hard worker, a great person, and the perfect fit for the GFT Trail Coordinator.

Pete Scholtz - Board Member - Pete has shown an incredible commitment to all of BMBA and we believe he is a great fit for our Board of Directors. He currently is responsible for the DJs area in the center of the GFT but can also be found pitching in, in virtually every aspect of our main trail system. He has great ideas, a great work ethic, and is looking forward to building onto BMBAs strong foundation.

Dusty Simmons - Merchandise Director - Dusty, like Mista Lee, has been a long time volunteer, and sometimes officer, of BMBA. Last year he officially started his own company , and has been creating and supplying all official BMBA merchandise since. His creative ideas, seemingly lifetime involvement in Brevards surf and skate culture, and positive/chill attitude has made him a perfect fit to keep our merch fresh, and able to serve a diverse community of riders and styles. We are looking forward to a continued partnership and to see all the new rad merch of the future!

Congratulations on your new roles boys! We really look forward to all you'll be doing!!!!!

“It’s normal to see little things here and there, but to see the kind of destruction that happened literally overnight — and the amount of it — was just devastating,” Dunnam said.
