Thanks to all who participated in the 4th of July Boat Parade, either from shore or afloat. We counted 30 boats at one point. There were also more camps cheering us on from the shore than we have ever seen. Despite a strong breeze on the open section of the lake, parade grand marshal Joe Burke and the lead boat guided a steady course covering our entire planned route.

As human activity picks up on the lake, we want to remind everyone of our top four helpful tips for protecting this place we love. Let's start with "No wake within 200 feet of the shoreline." This is a Maine state law to protect wildlife, habitats, and water quality. Please remind your family, friends and neighbors.

Happy Spring to all our Sheepscot Lake Association members. We are sure you're all looking forward to summer on the lake, especially after the true Maine winter this past year. As a lake association board, we're all excited to be there and are planning several activities for us to come together as a community to enjoy the lake, while we continue our vital work ensuring the health and beauty of Sheepscot.

We wanted to mention to you all that there will be at least two openings for our board this year. As you plan your time at Sheepscot, please consider joining, and let us know if you are interested! Please share with any neighbors who you think would be a valuable addition to our team. We will also be filling the position of Treasurer with a new or existing board member. The treasurer responsibilities include collecting membership dues, monitoring bank accounts, paying bills, etc, most of which can be done online.

We would also like to take this opportunity to remind folks that we need to catch up on financial support. "Dues" can always be paid online at our website, https://sheepscotlakeassociation.com, or by check. We strongly encourage more input and participation from around the lake, and would love your help spreading the word of the lake association and all we do to protect Sheepscot Lake.

We have much more to catch up on, but will be in touch as the season gets closer re: our plans and news for the summer. We also look forward to seeing you at our annual update and July 4th boat parade!

See you all soon!
