Who’s ready to trade the pavement for the trails? 🤠🌲 Grab your horse, gather your riding buddies, and get those Halloween costumes ready because the Halloween Horseback Poker Run at Rodeheaver Boys Ranch is coming up October 31st!

🗓️ SATURDAY, OCTOBER 31, 2026

🐎 Horseback Poker Run — Registration begins at 9 AM
🃏 5 stops — best poker hand wins!
👻 Halloween costume contest for all ages, including riders and horses
🚐 Trailer decorating contest
🍬 Trunk-or-treat at 5 PM
🍔 Food, refreshments, vendors, and family fun
🏕️ Camping available for $50 per night, with electrical and water hookups available

Our hearts are heavy as our community mourns the heartbreaking loss of Brystal Sadler. 💜🦋 At Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, we believe that family extends far beyond the walls of our Ranch. When one of our own is hurting, we hurt with them.

Brystal was deeply loved, and her life mattered. Our thoughts, prayers, and deepest condolences are with her family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

To Brystal’s family, please know that you are not walking through this alone. You are loved by the Rodeheaver family, and you have been and will continue to be an important part of our Ranch family. We are grieving with you, praying for you, and surrounding you with love during this unimaginable time.

There are no words that can make a loss like this easier, but there is comfort in knowing that a community is standing beside you.

Brystal, you will be remembered. Your life mattered. Your story matters. Your memory will live on in the hearts of those who love you. 🦋💜

🤎 A Little Bit of the Good Ole Days

There’s something special about the good ole days, the days when boys learned by doing, hard work was part of everyday life, and character was built one responsibility at a time.

Here at Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, we believe raising boys to become men means teaching them more than how to work with their hands. It means teaching them responsibility, integrity, humility, and the importance of honoring God in all they do.

From weedeating the yard to helping care for the Ranch, these everyday moments are part of a bigger purpose. We’re not just teaching boys how to get a job done; we’re helping shape young men who understand the value of hard work, serving others, and walking in faith.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord…” — Colossians 3:23

With God’s guidance and the support of those who believe in our mission, we pray these boys grow into men of strong character, grounded in Christ and ready to make a difference in the world.

Behind every lesson learned and every goal accomplished is someone willing to invest their time, patience, and love. Here at Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, our cottage parents do more than care for our boys at home, they walk alongside them in the schoolhouse, encouraging them to keep learning, growing, and believing in themselves.

God often works through the everyday moments we might overlook: a helping hand, a little extra encouragement, or someone who refuses to give up on you. 🙏

We’re grateful for the cottage parents who pour into our boys and remind them that they are loved, capable, and created with purpose.

There’s something special about watching a boy try something new. ❤️

A little nervousness, a lot of concentration, and plenty of encouragement along the way.

Moments like this may look simple, but they’re part of everyday life at the Ranch. Our boys get the chance to learn, try, make mistakes, try again, and discover things they enjoy, all while having people around them who believe in them.

We’re thankful for the opportunities God gives our boys and for the people who help make these moments possible. Sometimes the little moments become a big part of a boy’s story. 🐴

Behind every screen, every assignment, and every school day is a young man with a future that God already knows.

Today, we’re asking you to pause and pray for the boys of Rodeheaver Boys Ranch. ❤️

📚 Pray for their education — that they would have the desire to learn, the perseverance to keep going when school is difficult, and the confidence to believe they are capable.

❤️ Pray for their hearts — that they would know they are loved, valued, and worthy, and that they would see God working in their lives even when they don’t understand His plan.

🙏 Pray for their future — that God would guide their steps, protect them, and surround them with people who will encourage them to become the young men He created them to be.

And pray for the staff who walk alongside them each day, that God would give them patience, wisdom, strength, and the right words at the right time.

We may not always know what a boy is carrying in his heart, but God does. And there is power in praying for a child’s future before we ever see what God has planned.

A basketball. A hoop. A few minutes of laughter and competition. To someone looking in, it may seem like just another afternoon at the Ranch. But we know these moments can be so much more.

They are moments when boys can simply be boys. Moments to build friendships, learn perseverance, discover confidence, and experience the joy God intended for them to have. And behind these ordinary moments is an extraordinary God who is working in their lives, one day, one lesson, and one step at a time. ❤️

We may not always see what God is doing in a boy’s heart in the moment, but we trust that He is writing a story far greater than what we can see. Your prayers, generosity, and support help make room for these moments. They help provide a place where boys can be loved, encouraged, guided, and reminded that their past does not define them, and their future is in God’s hands.
