Here's something everyone should know: Most women who develop breast cancer do NOT have a family history of the disease.

In fact, approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States will develop invasive breast cancer during their lifetime.

Family history matters, but having no family history does NOT mean having no risk.

💗 You don’t need perfect words to support someone you love through breast cancer. You can start by showing up.

A ride to an appointment. A meal they’ll enjoy. Help with laundry. A listening ear. A message that says, “Thinking of you—no need to reply.”

Let them feel what they feel, without pressure to stay positive. Respect their privacy, follow their lead, and keep making room for the everyday conversations that help them feel like themselves. Remember the caregivers, too. 💜

💜💙 **102 PEOPLE. 9 MONTHS. ONE COMMUNITY THAT CARES.** 💜💙

Look at that bridge. 🌉

Every day, thousands of us cross it, going about our lives. But among us are neighbors fighting battles we may never see.

A cancer diagnosis doesn't just change someone's health. It can change EVERYTHING.

It can mean choosing between paying the electric bill and getting to treatment. Between buying groceries and covering medical expenses. Between financial stability and uncertainty.

**That's where Putnam First Cancer Fund steps in.** ❤️

✨ In the first nine months of 2026:

💜 **102 clients served.**

💙 **90 received financial assistance.**

🎗️ **24 received diagnostic testing.**

Behind every number is a real person. A family. A story. A neighbor who needed someone to care.

We’re proud to see Parker Sloan recognized in the Palatka Daily News! 💗
Parker developed an app specifically for Putnam First Cancer Fund that has helped us streamline our processes and significantly speed up the time it takes to get assistance into the hands of our clients. When someone is facing cancer, time matters—and making our process more efficient means local families can receive the help they need sooner.
Technology may be behind the scenes, but its impact is very real. We are incredibly grateful to Parker for sharing his talent, time, and innovation with PFCF and the people we serve.

💗 The costs of breast cancer don’t end with surgery. Special bras, breast forms, medications, rehabilitation, and time away from work can continue affecting families long into recovery.

Early detection matters. Talk with your healthcare provider about your screening schedule, and have new breast or underarm changes checked promptly. Your health deserves your attention. 🎀
