A Quick PHPP Summer Check-In!!

While we've been a little quieter on social media, People Helping People Palatine is still hard at work behind the scenes!

✔️ Supporting Summer Suppers To-Go

✔️ Distributed 4,000 Snack Packs to students attending CCSD15 Summer Programs

✔️ Continued Deerfield's Bakery Gleaning & Distribution

✔️ Gearing up for the 5th year of our Comfort Closet program

✔️ Planning for the return of PADS Site Meals this fall

✔️ Expanding Helping Hands Pantry to support TEN schools with in-house pantries

✔️ Preparing for our July 29 Pop Up Pantry

✔️ Planning Thanksgiving Meal Support & Thanksgiving Sides Kits

✔️ Gearing up for Holiday Gift Giving

✔️ Continuing to support local neighbors and community partners year-round

As our programs continue to grow, we're looking for volunteers to help with pantry support, food distribution, donation organization, deliveries, and special projects.

Happy 6th Birthday to US!

What started around a dining room table during COVID has grown into something so much bigger than we ever imagined. From neighbors helping neighbors to an incredible community built on kindness, generosity, and support — the impact over these last six years has been amazing to watch.

We are so grateful for every volunteer, donor, supporter, and family who has been part of this journey. Because of you, People Helping People Palatine continues to grow, evolve, and make a difference every single day.

We’re proud of how far we’ve come and looking forward to many more years of serving our community together. ❤️

VOLUNTEERS URGENTLY NEEDED!

We still have MANY open volunteer spots for our Summer Snack Pack Project and we need your help!

These snack packs provide healthy snacks each week for students attending the summer school program through Community Consolidated School District 15 — and we need more volunteers to help pack them.

TWO packing dates remain:
Thursday, May 14
Tuesday, May 19

Daytime & evening shifts available
Easy 2-hour volunteer slots

Whether you can help for one shift or several, your time will make a direct impact for local students this summer.

Thank you United Palatine Coalition and Buehler YMCA!

We were thrilled to be invited to participate in this past weekend’s Wellness Resource Fair hosted by the United Coalition of Palatine and Buehler YMCA!

It was a fantastic event—we made meaningful connections and had the opportunity to share the work we’re doing at People Helping People Palatine.

A special thank you to Laura Lee for coordinating with Learning Resources for their generous donation of play foam. It brought smiles to the kids who visited our table and was also included in 140 goodie bags distributed to families who couldn’t attend. And to Kerry M. for spending the day with me sharing her take on the great things that PHPP does for our community with everyone.

We were also glad to have student volunteers join us to complete their CEP service hours—and it looks like they had some fun along the way!

Days like today are a great reminder of how strong our community is when we come together!

We have so much more coming up that we can’t wait to share with you!

Be Part of Something That Matters! PHPP Summer Snack Pack Project – Volunteers Needed!

People Helping People Palatine is assembling 4,400+ snack packs to support 1,100+ students attending CCSD15 summer school—and we need your help to make it happen.

Thanks to a generous contribution from Blessings in a Backpack, our original goal of 300 snack packs has grown significantly. Now we’re calling on our PHPP community to step in and help us meet this expanded need.

We’re happy to help spread the word about their upcoming Charity Bingo Night supporting woman and girls impacted by domestic and sexual abuse—because when local organizations lift each other up, great things happen!

People Helping People Palatine is excited to be part of this year’s Wellness Fair! Stop by our table to learn more about how we support local families through a variety of programs focused on food security, essential needs, and community care.

While you’re there, we’ll also be collecting donations for our Summer Snack Pack Program, supporting students in CCSD15 during the summer months when school is out.
