I am happy to report that Fannie and her Flames are on the road to recovery and really thriving now that they are getting the experienced and loving care they so much deserve! They went through an order, they were very sick with pneumonia! And now they are better.

And we also recently rescued Cinder, the final cat who was left behind at Chicago Animal Care and Control from this same house fire. He was the last one there and became urgent to be euthanized. And thanks to our volunteer team of fosters, we were able to get Cinder to safety. Cinder was also sick and is now also thriving in his new home!

We have not yet meet our goal, please share and / or donate to help us say YES to rescue these cats and kittens in need!

Talk about a dramatic rescue! Fannie and her kittens, the Flames, were saved from a house fire in Chicago in March! This nurturing mother cat must have ran back into the blazing building, risking her own life each time, and carried her kittens to safety one by one. After Fannie’s heroic efforts to save her kittens, then the Chicago Fire Department transported the whole family to Chicago Animal Care and Control.

Fannie and her tiny kittens deserved a happy ending after what they had gone through. When the director of Fortunate Felines, the cat arm of Fortunate Pooches and Lab Rescue, saw Fannie’s story on the news, she was driven to get involved. So we took Fannie and the Flames into our rescue and placed them into one of our most experienced foster homes to ensure they received great care.

But despite our efforts, Fannie and her kittens developed a severe case of pneumonia, probably a result of inhaling all that smoke. The whole family required fluids, antibiotics and special care to nurse them back to health. Mama Fannie also lost her appetite from the ordeal, and as a result couldn’t nurse effectively so her foster mom also had to feed the kittens additional food to ensure they would survive.

As you can imagine, we’ve incurred high vet bills and other costs to provide the special care Fannie and her Flames have required. Won’t you help us help this sweet family by donating today?
