This weekend, members of the SGA had the incredible privilege of attending the 56th Annual MLK Remembrance Dinner. We weren’t alone in this experience we shared the room with our fellow student-athletes and honors students which made the evening even more powerful. 🤝
We had the rare honor of hearing from speakers who actually worked alongside Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., as well as insights from the Illinois Supreme Court, esteemed Reverends, and Harper’s very own Dr. Proctor. 🎤
Hearing their stories and wisdom reminded us that the work of justice and community-building is a relay race, and we are ready to take the baton. We all left the evening feeling deeply fulfilled and ready to bring that inspiration back to our campus. 🕊️💪

📸 Harper SGA Senators Make History! 🏗️

This afternoon, our wonderful SGA Senators took an amazing opportunity to be a part of Harper history by signing the main beam for our brand-new Canning Center!

This building will be a vital resource for years to come, and our student leaders were right there, literally building a legacy for future generations of Harper students. They were not just signing a beam, they were signing their commitment to our community’s growth and future!

We are absolutely blown away by the turnout at today’s SGA Town Hall! A massive THANK YOU to every single student and faculty member who took the time to come out.

It wasn’t just about showing up; it was about speaking up. To hear students sharing their honest experiences and seeing faculty listening, responding, and collaborating right there in the room was truly inspiring. This is what community looks like—using our voices to support one another and make our campus better.

This conversation is just the beginning. Let’s keep this energy going! 💙📢

More photos to come!
