MOS is back!! So happy they’ve returned to Cutting Hall!! Break out your dancing shoes & check out the season!! Looking for staff and FSTC has so many brilliant talents!! Break legs!! 🎭❤️

Music On Stage is seeking Directors, Choreographers, and Music Directors for our 2023-2024 Season. In order to achieve the highest quality productions possible, we are looking for creative, talented and experienced production staff who are interested in creating theatrical magic on our stage.

The Season
• Disney’s NEWSIES, A Musical based on the Disney Film
September 16 - October 1, 2023
• PLAID TIDINGS, Holiday Edition of FOREVER PLAID
November 11-26, 2023
• The 25th ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE
March 9-24, 2024
Shows are performed at The Cutting Hall Performing Arts Center in Palatine, IL.

The Process
Potential Directors, Choreographers, and Music Directors will need to submit and present a production proposal to The MOS Board for consideration by no later than May 12, 2023. The proposal should include a vision for the show and their resume. The Board will review the proposals and interview candidates.

Potential candidates can apply for a single show or multiple shows. If applying for multiple shows, they will need to submit a production proposal for each show, and they will be considered for each show independently.

The Board of Directors will notify all candidates of acceptance or decline. Final decisions typically take four to six weeks after the deadline closes. If chosen for Disney’s Newsies, be aware that production will start very quickly after selection.

Today is Giving Tuesday! We at Fremont Street Theater Company are always humbled to receive your generous donations year-round. FSTC is considering what’s next!! As many of you may know, all of our set pieces were destroyed during Covid. The storage owner chose to dump every beautiful piece that had been created by the hands of so many great artists in the hot summer weather in the barn. To say we were devasted, is an understatement!! So we are starting from scratch!!
Any amount you can give, is a treasured gift!! We’ve enjoyed so many fabulous seasons of musicals with brilliant casts, creative teams, volunteers, musicians, producers, technicians, artists, our friends and families, sponsors, rehearsal spaces, patrons and Cutting Hall, Elgin Art Showcase & Pheasant Run. Rusty and I are eternally grateful to you!! Thank you so much for your generous consideration!!! Hoping you are happy, healthy, and creating great art!! Break legs!!! ❤️

We hope that you, your family and friends are safe and healthy during this COVID-19 Pandemic. It is a challenging time for all of us. As we all are disappointed that theatre has been put on a pause, it is important to make sure everyone’s health is protected.

The theatre lights have dimmed today. Our dear friend & colleague, Frank Roberts, a theatre icon & legend, has passed away. Much too young and with so much more to do. Frank fought hard and never gave up. He left us with so many great memories. Frank absolutely lived for the theatre & loved every moment. His laughter, his joy, his passion, his brilliance, his imagination, his big heart, oh dear Frank! He could do absolutely everything. Frank was the consummate professional. Director, dancer, actor, singer, comedienne, choreographer, set builder, painter, orchestra conductor, stage manager, costumer, Music on Stage Artistic Director, staff at Lincolnshire Academy of Dance and the list goes on and on. Frank was a friend to all of us. His open arms gave so many actors and technicians an opportunity to shine on and off stage. And for those of us who knew Frank, we will miss him dearly forever. What do you say about such a beautiful soul? Farewell, dear friend. This is not good-bye, but till we meet again.
