What an honor to share The Kukhoma Project's mission with local church leaders and Baylor University Truett Seminary San Antonio students and alumni last week!

Our Executive Director, Amanda Switzer, joined Dean Todd Still for a conversation about TKP's history, our heart for the girls and babies we serve, and the challenges and opportunities we experience every day in Zambia.

Thank you for hosting us, Truett Seminary!

When a girl experiences gender-based violence or sexual abuse in Chongwe or Lusaka, TKP is often the very first call.

Our team meets with the girl and her family. We help her access medical care, connect her with the police, and ensure that she is safe and supported through the reporting process. Through ongoing conversations, we determine if she meets the criteria for admission into the TKP house, then either begin the process to move her in, refer her to partners, or help her take her own independent steps to file reports, meet with doctors, and find ongoing care.

We are an essential resource for our entire community—and our work is possible because of people and partners like YOU. Because of you, we're able to answer the phone in Zambia and respond with compassion, care, and action.

Too many girls in Zambia lose their childhoods far too soon. Nearly 1 in 3 marry before their 18th birthday.

Behind that statistic are girls whose dreams, education, and opportunities are interrupted. But in many of our surrounding communities, we're watching as the culture shifts and positive change takes place.

Alongside caring for girls in our safehouse, we're creating lasting, systemic change through our community outreach programs. We partner with families, local leaders, and neighbors to challenge the belief that early marriage is inevitable.

Your support fuels that change. It helps girls stay in school, equips local leaders to advocate for their communities, and strengthens efforts to end child marriage for good.

Thank you to everyone who Bid for Hope with The Kukhoma Project! 🙌

Together, we raised $32,000 to support the girls and babies living in our safe house and to continue the work of preventing gender-based violence in communities across Zambia.

We’re close to our $50,000 goal, but still need $18,000 to get there. Can you help us close the gap?

Every dollar you give will provide immediate daily needs for girls and babies in our house.

Teen pregnancy rates in Zambia are extraordinarily high. More than 30% of girls will become pregnant as a teenager, and these pregnancies are regularly the result of abuse and defilement (sexual activity with someone under the age of 16).

It's why The Kukhoma Project was created, and it's why our work is as important as ever. We exist to restore, equip, and empower girls who are pregnant from abuse, helping them build brighter futures for themselves, their children, and their communities.
