Join the Buehler YMCA for our sixth annual Miles for Smiles fundraiser on Saturday, February 24! Help raise funds for the Buehler YMCA Scholarship Fund while enjoying your favorite physical activity with friends and family.

“In 2022, Buehler YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago provided over $80,000 in financial assistance to families and children who utilized our services or participated in our programming. This was almost DOUBLE the support we provided in 2021.

We don’t have the means to just provide this assistance without the support of our community. Over the past 5 years, the Miles for Smiles fundraiser has been a key contributor towards our financial assistance program.

So when we see more and more in our community needing financial assistance, our members and partners step up in a MAJOR way. This year over 200 individuals completed a 5k or 45 minute workout. As a result, we raised over $28,000 for our financial assistance program.

On March 1, we began enrolling children in our summer camp programs. We immediately began receiving requests for financial support. Thanks to Miles for Smiles, Michael and Kristin Kiss, Huntington National Bank, and dozens of other contributors, we have the resources to guarantee that we can welcome any kid in Palatine to our summer camp this year, regardless of their family’s ability to pay.

I could not be more proud of any singular initiative than bringing laughter, joy, and the opportunity to PLAY to young people in the northwest suburbs of Chicago.

Thank you to those who supported. You have made 2023 the best summer ever for a whole bunch of kids!”
