The Guides & Princesses program has long held the traditions of building and fostering strong bonds between parent and child. Unlike "drop off" programs, all activities include both parent and child. Together, you will learn to spend time enjoying all that nature has to offer. You will journey together to places near and far: camp deep in the woods, catch a ball game at Wrigley field, sleep overn
ight at a museum. Wherever you go, you and your children will carry this gift of time together in your hearts forever. We are a group of 1,000+ families in the North, Northwest and Southwest Suburbs of Chicago that have joined together to celebrate and build bonds with our children. We offer different programs for children of all ages. Our programs are recommended for elementary school age kids, although many continue to participate even into middle school. We also have a Trails Program which is designed with busy, older kids in mind – no monthly meetings and more challenging events (e.g. horseback riding, white water rafting, and paintball). Under the Algonquin Longhouse Charter, our program is completely member owned and managed! We volunteer our time to plan and attend fun events with our kids including campouts three times per year, overnighters at museums, and other fun activities such as bowling, skating and pinewood derbies. We invite you to join us. You'll be glad you did! How is our program unique? Affordable: Only pay for events you can participate in. Flexible: Both parent and child can fit most of the events in. Enjoyable: Both parent and child are involved and have bonding experiences.
