We may no longer be having Sunday worship services but we have remained an independent nonprofit ministry. We are excited to see how God moves us forward as we are grafted in ministry with our Parent Congregations. It will be a joint endeavor as Encounter Missions will fall under the umbrella of our two Parent Churches, Mayo Memorial UMC and Paintsville First UMC and still remain an independent no
nprofit ministry. We are currently in the process of working amongst the Covid -19 restraints, and although we have transitioned from a church setting ,Encounter Missions is committed to continue being "The Church". Our Vision: to be "A place where God reaches out to those who feel left out." Our Core Values: 1.) Love is unconditional
The Triune God- Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is THE ONE we worship and serve to His Glory. He offers us all unconditional love, likewise we should offer it to others.
2.) No one is perfect! WE believe all people struggle with hurts, habits and hang-ups, all people have diverse gifts and abilities, and only by God's grace and the blood of Christ will any of us become perfect.
3.) Everyone is WELCOME!!! All people, regardless of their spiritual condition matter to God and to us. Our prayer is, "God, send us people no one else wants or can see." Our hope is that encounter will be a place where everyone will come to know God's outrageous love for all, including those who had previously felt left out or unwanted. Our prayer, "God, send us people no one else wants or can see" , reflects the heart of Encounter to include all people in the body of Christ. We pray for God's grace to break through all divisions and or dysfunctions that threaten to separate people from God's love and one another. We pray God would help all person's encounter that they are "a child of God and person of worth." Our Passion:
is for people to hear not only what Jesus can do, but to see Him in action; thus an ENCOUNTER!
