Martha Lillard had just turned 5 when she was diagnosed with polio and depended on an iron lung to live.

She died on June 26 in Oklahoma, the last U.S. polio patient who used the machine, her sister said. She was 78. https://cnn.it/3TbuLpW

As another Rotary year comes to a close, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Jeania Perry and Stephie Rodriguez for leading our club during the 2025–2026 Rotary year. We also recognize Jeania’s two-year tenure in Rotary leadership, serving as President in 2024–2025 before continuing as Co-President this past year. Together, they have helped strengthen our club through service, fellowship, and community impact.

Their passion for service, commitment to our community, and dedication to strengthening our club helped make this a year filled with meaningful projects, lasting friendships, and opportunities to make a difference. Thank you both for your countless hours of service and for leading with heart, vision, and purpose.

As we turn the page to a new Rotary year, we are excited to welcome Thomas Callihan as our 2026–2027 President. We look forward to supporting Tom as he leads our club into another year of “Service Above Self” and continuing the important work of serving our community together.

Today, the Paintsville Rotary Club had a wonderful meeting with Judi's Place for Kids. Earlier this month, we hosted our Miles for Mental Health 5K, and we are honored to share that all proceeds from the event were donated to Judi’s Place in memory of beloved Rotarian, Linda Duncan who worked closely with this organization.

Linda had a heart for people and a deep compassion for helping others, making this donation especially meaningful to our club. Organizations like Judi’s Place provide comfort, hope, and healing for children in our communities.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, donated, and helped make this event possible. Service truly becomes powerful when a community comes together for a purpose greater than itself. 💙
